Marie, Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird is a story about apartheid or racial prejudice. You have to buy your own copy because this is everyone's bible about human rights and racism. Although set in a time when the black people still had no voice in America, the novel brings man's compassion towards fellow human beings. This novel, I believe, had been JFK's handbook. He once said...ask not what America can do for you but ask what you can do for your country... or something like that. Enjoy reading.

That's President John F. Kennedy, probably the first president of the modern world who really charmed the people to strengthening America. He campaigned for the race to the moon but did not live to see it materialize.

I remember reading that book. It was actually one of the better books that I was forced to read in school. It is really one of those books that is hard to explain without the context of book. However, the title is very important, as the underlying theme was it is an awful thing to harm or kill something as innocent as a mockingbird and that symbolism is the underlying factor of the book.

You can probably order a copy from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com Though I don't know if they will ship the book to the Phillipines where I see you are at. You'll have to check that out on the Amazon website.
Incidentally, when I looked at your profile I saw that you have text and background in very similar colours which makes it very difficult to read. Put the text in a contrasting colour to the background so that people can read your information easily. If they can't read it easily and quickly then they are likely to not bother at all. Just a friendly bit of advice.

It has been way too long for me to remember the storyline itself. I seem to remember a poor family, but this is all I remember. I do suggest you buy it, because it is a good book.

The novel is narrated by a young girl named Scout, but it's more about her father's trial to defend a black man who has been wrongly accused of assault and rape. It's a very hard-hitting story about racial prejudice and a fight to overcome that. It's not really my type of book (I'm the high-fantasy adventure type!) but it was one of the few that I had to read in school that I actually liked. If you're not sure whether or not you'd want to keep your own copy, then I'm sure you could find one at the library no problem and you'd be able to read that with no monetary loss.

Don't you think that the point of finding out what this novel is all about lies in the very act of reading it? Basically, it's a story about racism told from a little girl's point of view. Go read it! It's one of those books that you MUST read in your lifetime!

It was my book review during high school. It as a long time ago and I can't quite remember the exact plot. I'm sure they still have it on bookstores since it's an all time best seller.
