Does Professionalism really exist?
I don't think so since I have worked for about 9 years, unfortunately never joined a company that the employees work very professional. It's always about the absolute power, subjective view, personal preference, and licking the boss' aS5.

I agree with you here creyos. There is no true professionalism. I worked in a number of offices and did not find a single instance of professionalism, neither amongst my colleauges or seniors or the boss. The reason is that man is not a perfect being and he has his ego, his moods, laziness and a number of faults to counter. There may be one or two professionals in an organisation but never the entire lot for this very same reason. If the organisation or office is very large comprising of many employees, then politics plays a large part in the running. This causes a lot of friction and the professionalism is thrown to the wind.

My full time job up until January 2010 I have always worked in the medical field. I was a Surgical Center Administrator and professionalism was always a must. Absolutely in my arena it is an absolute must, however there were a few who lacked a bit there of.
However those that did lack the professional skills were far from teachable as they did not care for etiquette.
To be professional does not require a professional job, but how one caries and handles their position in any company.
I currently do many independent contracted jobs were I rate customer service and can't begin to tell you the upscale and mid-grade unprofessional people I have had to rate. Then there are those who so absolutely carry themselves so well and were rated highly.
