Cooking is just not an interest thaat everyone has. Some have more talent and skill and joy for it. it doesn't mean that everyone can't learn to cook. it is just not something everyone wants to do.

I think people don't learn to cook for many reasons. Some of them being they don't have the time and it's more convienient to buy your meals either from the grocery store or restaurants. I know older generations don't always know how in particular the MEN because it was a Woman's domain to keep house and cook meals while he went to work. Now days it's not true as many households need 2 incomes to survive. And whomever is home needs to cook the meals for the family, or atleast that's how it works here.

Because some people simply do not have time, they haven't been taught to cook in a young age but they have the money so they can afford to eat in restaurants or cafiterias.

I personally believe that cooking is a very easy stuff as long as you have the perfect ingredient and the perfect recipe. However it is still possible that other people are not blessed to have kitchen skills. Taste, as one of the five-now-six-senses including umami, is a very important aspect of cooking. The worst cook in the world are those with impaired taste buds.

Every human being has the talent to cook. I agree with you that if a person has eagerness to learn cooking he/she will know that. Eventhough we are not interested in cooking we should know that basic thing as individuals because it will help us in the future..

jepoi17,
For a start, their parents are bad cooks themselves to discourage them from learning this basic skill. I am sure you've seen how children just simply dislike what's being dished out from their parents' cooking and this dislike will just move along into their adulthood.
The other aspect I can probably think of is, women today are no longer deemed to be domestic housewives only. They have a place in the badly shortage labor market and thus giving them a place in the working society. At the end of the day, they will just be too busy to learn the culinary skills and even if they do know how to cook, they will be too tired to churn out a meal.
The world today is really much about fast food and takeaways, if you know what I mean. So, just don't be too surprised if your other halve can't or is unwilling to pick up the kitchen's frying pan.

I don't know the actual reason of that. I can tell you my point of view. In case of me the cooking is interesting subject. But I am unable to cook. But I am trying to learn it. It will help me in future. Recently I can cook some tasteful dishes. But I have to learn more.........That's all I want to say......

Yes, you are right. If people are eager to learn something, they will make it. However, most of the people are not willing to learn, thus they don’t know how to cook.
I am tired of doing housework, thus I don’t take the jobs at home actively. My hub always thinks that I don’t know how to work and he will take it by himself. LOL
In some sense, it would be happy if I am not good at cooking and housework.

I honestly think some people have a talent for it, while others do not, so that helps for sure. And having an interest is a great advantage too. I think most people can learn to cook, but maybe not everyone. But the majority of people for sure, if they just try!

I think it takes time. Because before I don't know how to cook when I was young. If you are really interested to know how to cook you really can cook. I'm just glad that when I moved here it motivates me to learn cooking.
