I have already finish the game in Normal Mode. I was only able to fight Minerva when I was at the final stage of the storyline. Now, I want to defeat Minerva during the early storyline. I've already finished the pre-missions required for Minerva's. But Minerva now is way too strong! It's physical attacks are much stronger now and hard to dodge and block. Even the elemental magics are more frequent as well as the Ultima and Judgment Arrow. It took me almost an hour fighting her but I always end up dead. Any suggestions? Equipment setup? Materia selection?

Get all the genji equipments, they are hard to get but you need it if you wnat to stand a chance against Minerva. second is to maximize your stats to 255. Have a costly punch materia and a mug or steal to get 99 phoenix down is which you can use in battle to grant you auto-life.

First you need to get the 3 pieces of genji armor. They help out alot during the fight. You also need to increase your defensive stat to 255. this can be easily done by stealing the 99 phoenix down of minerva with brigand glove and fusing it into a materia with HP+ then changing the attribute to another by using rare hero drinks and the like. Minerva is not a tough boss to fight. Just spam costly punch and heal. She has only 10 million HP. Just be careful because around 5 million of her HP remaining she begins to attack very quickly. Be quick to dodge and defend her attacks and just keep hitting her when there is an opening. Best of luck to you. You will be awarded the divine slayer after the fight. one of the best accessories for Zack. Hope I helped.
