Any idea about HCG diet?

I recently read an article about HCG Diet and they say it is the best weight loss program anyone can ever have. But I am just confused, I thought HCG is a hormone which is used to determine if someone is pregnant. Does anybody here have an explanation how this diet works?

Yep, I know several people who have done this diet and it really worked for them. One of my friends lost over 100 pounds on it. My sister lost around 40 pounds. It is a hormone having to do with pregnacy, but it somehow resets the hyperthalamus. The injection somehow keeps you from getting hungry while you eat the restricted diet they prescribe.
