There are a LOT of traditional songs in my country (the Philippines). The music styles are very different and they aren't getting into the mainstream very often. Grace Nono, an artist from here, released a song and it was a success.
I love world music though, and I listen to a lot Celtic and Tango.

Not really. I like a lot of alternative songs and I'm also into acoustic songs. I'm not familiar with the names you mentioned because I really don't listen to traditional music. What do you mean by it? like folk songs? Or classical music?

Oh, then I'm not really into it. It kind of bores me, no offense to you.

What does "traditional" music mean? I listen to everything...from classical to r&b, rap, rock, classic rock, heavy metal, world, new age-you name it. I am probably the only person I know with such diverse tastes in music.

Or maybe what they call "easy listening" is more our traditional music..I am not sure on that-because some would say country, some classical, some rock and roll LOL, who knows...it's all in one's interpretation

Classical music is my favorite. I very much enjoy classical music of my country and also of foreign countries. They are so beautiful and so enchanting. The reflect the culture of the people. I keep a collection of CDs of classical music and listen to them almost every evening after I get back home from my work. That's my way of relaxation.

Maybe yes maybe not. It depend on what kind of traditional music itself. I love the sound of 'angklung', a bamboo-made music instrument. You play it by shaking it. The sound produced is so nice. If you have 100 people, ask them to play angklung in different tone. That will create a wonderful sound ever. Though nowadays people, esp. young people seem don't care of traditional music. Angklung still exists anyway. Thanks for the player of angklung.
