The fugitive is a cop.

What do we make out of Senator Panfilo Lacson's continued evasion and hiding from eventual arrest? As a lawmaker, he should be obedient to the law. And as an ex-policeman, he should know better than to resist a warrant that cops, by hook or by crook, would serve. Now, he is a subject of manhunt, a fugitive from the law. And that only leaves one thing absolute in the minds of the public. Guilty! Otherwise, one would allow justice to take its natural course. Senator Ping, as he would like to be called, had braved criticism the past decade. That had been how long since the murder of PR man Bubby Dacer and his driver Corbito. This decade old double murder was the reason why he is being hunted. Why hide now? By the way, the 1996 Kuratong Bulaleleng rub-out was also attributed to gentleman Ping. He was supposed to have ordered the killing of the handcuffed drug suspects riding in a van on top of a flyover in Commonwealth Avenue. He claimed that the drug syndicates shot at the police first. But Ed de los Reyes, a cop who witnessed the rubout, couldn't, in conscience, just keep mum about it. So, he waited the long line @ DZMM radio station so that the public would know of what really transpired. There is a thing called justice, Senator Ping. If you want it for yourself, so do the ghosts of those who have died violently... May the ghosts never rest till justice is served!

It really is a shame that the world should have to come to something like this. You know we recently had an occurance with a supposed friend of mine where she stole from my husband and myself and now it seems like she has fallen off the face of the earth and that bothers me because I think justice needs to be served in this situation. That said, as the police told us when we filed the police report, it might take time but justice does always prevail.

I have to agree with you there. I have seen him rose from the ranks and transformed from police to becoming a senator but all of it came tumbling down to becoming a fugitive of the law. It is really tragic that behind those integrity he is showing to the public there is some dark side in himself hiding. I also believe that there is guilt in the hiding since if you really are not guilty you could have shown and get imprisoned for sometime until proven that he is innocent or not. But the longer he hides the more he is showing his guilt over the accusation. Good thing he did not won the presidential elections in the past else this case is buried already.

that is really a shame in our country. i am pretty sure that will be part of the history that soon young Filipinos will study. how i wish the government officials are really working hard on that and not helping the fugitive.

it's a great ashamed to our country, the line "most wanted person in the country is a lawmaker". how could the NBI catch him? to the fact that he is the former chief of police in the Philippines so it means he have loyal men inside that agency. so do you expect that our law enforcement men can catch our very own senator ping lacson.

Hi eileenleyva, I agree with you, Sen. Ping is a lawmaker and he knows all the laws because his one of the elected officials in our country, his the one who always had an issue to offer to other politicians, criticize them and now that his on hand to face our law that hunts him. I hope our government won't stop until this case has not been resolved.
