What's Behind PTC Business?

PTC business is very popular now. You can earn a big amount of money just by clicking some adds and rent some referrals. So, in short, PTC is very profitable. But, do you ever think what is behind this business? Don't you think that we just invest our money there, and in the next time we get more than we invest? Forget about referrals, AVG, recycle, and whatever. That's only a game. What I question is how the admin can pay us more than we invest? Are they forex traders? Do they save our investment in the banks? Or do they re-invest our investment and share the profit? Share your thoughts here please.
