Update AND a Crazy Reindeer

First, I want to thank everyone who was praying for my dad. He had his surgery today, and although it took a long time, he came out of it fine. They had to get a separate waiting room for us because so many people showed up to wait with our family. Sixty came, and twelve were family. We think he might be able to come home tomorrow, but they aren't sure. And we won't know right away if the cancer had spread outside of his prostate into the surrounding tissue.
I enclosed a picture of one of my favorite Christmas decorations. I posted a discussion about Christmas decorations the other day, and some of you wanted to see a picture. So here it is!

Happy to hear that the surgery is over and I wish him a fast and comfortable post-surgery recovery. Let's hope for yet more good news from the doctors.
As for you Christmas blue reindeer, how lovely indeed. I made a comment over there as I so love the pink glittery antlers and the furry scarf, so festive indeed.

Thanks for the update, Amber. How are things going with your mom? Did she wait at the hospital with you guys? What hospital did you use? I will go look at the crazy reindeer really soon. I wanted to read this post first.

Yes, she was at the hospital. She did very well. She got nervous when my sister was out of sight, but she handled everything okay. She is aware of what is going on. But the doctor of course didn't relate anything to do with my dad to my mom. She can't remember what anyone says to her.
He is in Mercy Hospital. That's a great hospital, it's just far away from our homes.

I'm glad to hear your dad came out of surgery well, and hope for additional good news soon.
About the deer, I see, its one of those tiny deer (I was picturing a deer for the yard) I've seen them in natural colors, but I have to agree, that is very cute!

Crossing fingers and toes it was just contained to that one area. Thanks for keeping us updated. I hope he has a speedy recovery! Was your Mom there? Did she grasp what was going on?

I love the reindeer! I am pleased to hear that your dad’s surgery went well. I am going to pray that everything will end up well. Your father must be a very well loved man if sixty people showed up at the hospital! Let us hope that there is no more cancerous cells and that he will recover without a problem. I will send prayers his way and keep him in my thoughts.

That is a pretty decoration and thank you for the update, I was praying and thinking of your and your family yesterday, but didn't want to bother you and had hoped you would let us know. I will now pray for a great report on your dad..:)

Hey, AP. Sorry I took so long to respond, but I am playing catch up from when I had no computer access. I hope your father's surgery was a success. My father had prostate cancer, but he opted out of surgery, going for chemical castration instead. My uncle did do the surgery back in the late 70s.
