Hi Friends,
Google Chrome Operating System is out :)
Google announced that Chrome OS will be an open source, lightweight operating system and will be initially available on netbooks. The new Chrome OS will make the computers faster, much simpler and fundamentally more secure.
Chrome is open source and that will bring some competetion among similar products provided similar or greater features to the end users.
Is it going to be a virtual war between Google and MS?

I didn't know anything about it. I may have to look into it. I'm going to ask right now, do you know if it is free or not? If so, I can possibly experiment with it and try to go with creating a Virtual Machine with it just to get an idea on how it works and all the fun stuff.

All right. I'll be sure to do do so. It sounds interesting nevertheless and will have to investigate it and see if it would be something I would use down the road or something to that extent. If nothing else, it could add to a learning experience on using multiple operating systems.

It will be iffy however do to the fact that the browser has its on glitches in it I hope they have at least corrected that error. I do like the look of chrome and the speed but it crashes alot where you have to kill pages repeatedly.

Crash is a big issue, they have mostly concentrated on the speed which is good but not the only thing to consider. MS takes time to let you start working but Crash is a far thing to happen. I have not used Chrome yet but if it crashes frequently, will be a flop show.

As for me, I do not think so. Linux and Mac OS has been long time competitors to Windows, and yet there are not even level with that Microsoft-based OS...Linux, for example, is also released as open source OS, and yet they are not widely use, as there are only a small number of application that can be operated on this particular OS...Nevertheless, I believe that most computer users around the world has 'indirectly' associated computer with Windows OS...
