Everyone globally has constantly heard about the ills of smoking,drinking and gambling that it kills you, it gives you cancer,it makes ruins your life, etc to such an extent that now everyone is sick and tired of listening about it. This article does not state that a lethal disease like cancer should be taken lightly but saying that in times like these, think cash, or at least stocks. These so called sinful or controversial stock, so called as many investors label them as 'dirty stocks', are one of the few types of stocks whose performance remains relatively unaffected even by recession.Here is why- 1)As life becomes more complicated,people need to cope up with the stress of daily life and motivational quotes and stress exercise do not always give you a calm mind so people turn to a booze or smoking tobacco.Take recession for example,as there will be job losses and depression everywhere, the alcohol and tobacco industries can perform very well by offering these at cheap prices.The point being here is that people will always need new ways to cope with stress and these to things can help them to do that. I know it sounds very smart and prudent to say that these items are bad for the health and so on but there are so many other things that are worse like mosquitoes and pollution which is ironically caused by us humans and smoking and drinking in a quantity can actually make you more susceptible to the problems of your life. A new study shows that by drinking alcohol, you can actually make your brain more alert and active as it helps you fight deadly mind diseases like dementia. So coming back to the point the alcohol and tobacco industries have seen a 6.5% and 20% rise respectively even during the recession,so think about these stocks. 2)Now as for gambling,whether online or not,is gambling really a vice?.As far as I am concerned,going to astrologers and wasting your money there is also considered gambling but no one puts cares too much about that and sometimes even going to get a college degree from a posh college can be called gambling as you the ordinary folk, without scholarship,take out a big student loan and hope for the best when they graduate which is similar to a person playing at a slot machine.Now as said above if USA legalizes online gambling then think how high the shares can shoot up and one of the early investors can even possibly make a fortune out of this because people will always like the idea of getting millions of dollars without really doing anything at all. Conclusion- The conclusion to this article is that these stocks have a tremondous potential as there is already too much negativity going on regarding the morals and ethics of these vices do so there is a lot of room for positive news that will rise these stock prices to a high level.
