My nephew have asthma when he was a baby. Until now he still have asthma but it's not like before. His asthma just seldom occur. But he has cold since he was a baby and until now that his 10 y/o. He doesn't have a running nose but I always hear him sniff. He have some phlegm. Do you know what complications he could have in the future if he didn't cure his cold? Do you know any remedy?
I wanna help him. I know it's not healthy for him to have that cold for a long time.

as far as i know this disease is due to allergy and it is also hereditary, does his parents suffer from it? get a thorough check up and medication in order to prevent it, i myself suffer from this disease from childhood and i m still living with it, its tough as u grow old but its totally controlled now. staying away from cold, regular medication would help. i always carry an inhaler with me its completely safe and one can breathe freely after taking one or two puffs, u get instant result but unfortunately i think asthma is incureable side by side i also take ayurvedic medicines so living happy with it.

It sounds more like allergies, which often go along with asthma. Doctors can prescribe antihistamines for allergies. Colds usually go away in a week to ten days, unless they go into a bacterial infection, but then they would get a lot worse and lead to things like pneumonia.

Pneumonia is what I was considering to be honest. When mucus gets in the lungs directly that is when it happens and without treatment you can have the cold indefinitely.
It could very easily be allergies though, and even then whatever the allergy will need to be removed from the home for long lasting results.

I, too, think that it must be allergies. A cold wouldn't last that long. There are children's antihistamines sold over the counter that he could try for short term relief. It might take some experimenting to find the right kind and dose, though. If I were you, I'd check with an herbal specialist to see what they would recommend as a long term solution.

That's not cold, it's sinus problem.. haha =D Dun worry too much about that because it's not a big deal. What's important is that he has to get those phelgm out when he has it in his mouth. If he keeps swallow it, he might develop pneumonia which would be serious by then. Get him to be more active, exercise and that will help him out with his way of breathing too

Chicken soup, orange juice, vitamin c and lots of water. Chicken soup is best when it's home made. I hope your nephew gets better soon! :)

i think ginger is the best remedy for cold. i use it so it is my personal experience, just take a piece of ginger and boil it in half glass of water, when water becoms half pour it in cup and drink it, you may add 1 spoon of honey in it, it is good for flue as well as in headache.
