I'm an artist, what are you?

In your own mind what are you?
Can you prove your existence? Is that even possible?
Is acknowledgement important? Do you want to get noticed? Are you hungry for attention? why?
A few weeks ago I entered an artpiece to this contest and just yesterday I learned that I have won 2nd place. It's just a small competition and I have not entered the best pieces that I had so that means I have more to show and I have a great potential on winning more awards. From Now on I'll enter my best pieces so I can get to first place. I'm an artist.

Well in a few more years once i have learned more about the market and shares i would like too become a business man maybe owning some shares or inventing products.I would also like too be a games designer that works for companys like Activision and Treyarch or just test new games for glitches and faults in the game.I suppose my dream job would too be a owner of a game company as that would be wonderful for me.Although many people think this is impossible if i keep believing then it could happen i have too admit though there isnt much chance or hope in it :D.

Don't just believe because that would get you nowhere.

I'm an artist by heart. Everyone can be called as an artist because we are all unique. we have different characteristics and attributes. For now I do giveaways for weddings as well as other occasion. I also do flower arrangements in some way it is also considered as an art right?

I never wanted to have a high profile status in public..
I just want to live in peace and in simple terms..
If , somebody wants to know about me, then i will be a football player...
Yes, it is true i play football and i am a football player and i play eastern winger position and i have scored ecstatic goals and always have a strong leash on the opponents...
But, i always wanted to have a low profile status...

You see, i wanted to play for Villareal.....
Catching a spot in our National team is not a big deal.....Just some money is enough to catch a spot, but i am career oriented.....Will make it sooner rather than later as i'm getting older where Macheda, Di Maria, Ozil have been playing for big teams as they are all just a year or two elder than me...

You didn't see yourself as an artist? I lovbe your art! Congrats! Next time it Will be 1st place. Me? I'm a semi retired musician. Why semi retired? Well, It has been many years since I played my violin. But I do play my guitar from time to time. Did I need acknowledgement? Yes and no. I played orchestra in highschool. We were pretty good. But did I play To be noticed? No! I played to play. All I wanted was to play beautiful music with friends and I did it! So Do I Need to be in a orchestra ? Or to be famous singer who can play guitar? No! So this is why I see myself as semi retired!

I guess I'll be answering this one in parts since it's made up of more than 1 question. First, I could be many different things, to different people. When you say, "I'm an artist", are you describing yourself in a relation to what you do for living or in generalor in complishments? Let's see, I'm a father to my daughter, boy friend to my girl friend, son to my mom, brother to my sister, etc, etc... As for what I do, I work as a translator. As for acomplishments, I double majored & a minored in college. One of my major was photo-journalism. I do have few pictures published in a small local papers as well as universe's newsletter. In that sence, I guess I'm a photographer, or like you in a sense, an artist. The other major was in forensic psychology & minored in graphic design. I haven't kept up with it since I graduated from college & I know a lot of technology has been changed since, not so much for forensic psychology but in photography & graphic designs. It's been over 15 years since I've graduated from Drexel University. Second, I don't need to prove my existence. People who means anything to me, or people who I mean anything to, know that I exist. The fact that they can't prove I don't exist should be sufficient enough for them to know that I do. Third, I don't need other people's aproval or acknowledgement. I have decided long time ago that I wouldn't live my life based on other people's standards. That's not to say I wouldn't help others but as far as how I should lead my life isn't anybody's business but my own. That leads to the next question, I couldn't care any less if I get noticed by others, for the same reason as I stated above. Only people I care to be noticed by are my family members.

You sound unfriendly but I may be wrong. I'm an artist due to the fact that whatever I make is considered art or artistic by someone who sees it. I'm describing myself as an artist because I think I am an artist not by my achievements or whatever you said it may be because that would put me into a limited category.
Are you sure you don't need acknowledgement? What if you didn't have family? Would acknowledgement mean different to you?

I too, am an artist! I've been quietly doing my thing for over 30 years. I have always striven to do my best work, and my time and trouble has paid off. I am an Apiarist and my business is the Sweetest Imaginable! Last season I produced over 25,000 lbs of honey, and it was sold as quickly as it could be packaged. My customers come for miles in all directions to get their year's supply of honey. I get many compliments, each season, as well as making many new friends. Oh it is so nice to be an Artisan!
