I can be your virtual tour guide. First how many days would you be staying? Which area are you staying at? What activities do you like? Who are coming with? Any kids?

I like Singapore. It is a very clean city and shopping is quite like Hong Kong but the only offside is it cost more when it comes to the currency exchange. Singapore is so close to Malaysia that you can just take a cab to cross over to our country.

It doesn't take long say an hour from Singapore to the nearest city in Malaysia, Johore. I myself have not ventured all out to see this part of Malaysia as I am from the East Malaysia, a state called Sabah. But you can check that out online to see what are the interesting places for tourists to see in Johore.

How about from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur? My friend and I have considered back-packing so we won't have to spend on the lodging. Just sleep while traveling, you know? It saves money, and we can maximize our time considering I only have a week of vacation for Singapore and hopefully, if time permits, the best spots in Malaysia. What do you think?

Singapore is a multi racial community, so to appreciate it you need to visit Chinatown, little India and Malay village. There are temples and some buildings that shows the unique culture mix of Singapore. However, you need some time to soak the culture. Food reflects the culture too. India, Chinese, malay and food may fuse, you might only find in this part of the world. You should find time for chilli carb, chesse parta, rojak just to name a few.

Another dish you should try is Curry fish head, this dish is pretty special, because in the past, the rich people do not take fish head, so they throw it away. The poor Indian workers, would pick it up and drop into the pot of curry and share among others. However the taste is so good that now many people enjoy the dish. Be warn it is pretty spicy if you taste it in Singapore.

Hey, I'm fom Singapore. Do visit our Sentosa island which now houses our Integrated Resort. Not to forget too. There is newly built Unviersal Studios Singapore which you will have many exciting thing to do. visit http://rwsentosa.com for more details Well, other from the universal studio, do check out Underwater World where you can see how life under the sea is like. Don't forget our beaches too which has bars like Cafe Del Mar. Hahaha, many exciting events awaits you at the Siloso and Palawan Beaches, so do check them out. Other than Sentosa, do visit Orchard Road which is equivalent to Tokyo's Ginza or New York's Fifth Avenue. All of shops are available too and do check out the new malls such as Ion Orchard. This might help you too https://app.stb.gov.sg/asp/index.asp

Thank you for the links and suggestions! I'm a little bit hyped on planning my first vacation alone. Im going to Singapore for a week so I'm trying to plan my itinerary from DAY 1 to DAY 7. Universal Studios will definitely be number 1. Since I love animals, I'll also visit Underwater World and the local Zoo. I've also heard of the famous Tortoise Museum. That will definitely be on my list too. I've heard the Orchard Road is a bit expensive for shopping, but worth the visit nonetheless. I really want to make the most of my 1 week vacation in Singapore.

Hi there. Singapore is my home! So, here are the places that I can recommend. You can go visit Sentosa Island, where there are a lot of joy rides, attractions and especially the Merlion. There's also a casino there called Resorts World Sentosa. Another place in Singapore which is well-liked by foreigners and locals is Orchard Road, which is a top shopping paradise. It's a prime area there and there are a lot of high rise shopping centers, be sure to visit! The last place I recommend is East Coast Park, which is surrounded by the beach and you are sure to like it if you go there.

Singapore is a famous food paradise and wherever you go, you are bound to find a lot of hawker centres. The oldest hawker Centre should be the Lao Par Sat. You can visit and eat there. As for souvenirs, China Town offers the best souvenirs at the best price, according to a lot of foreigners and my experience.

I have visted Singapore a few times, mostly on my business trips. Singapore certainly is a beautiful city. I stayed at the Mandarin Hotel on Orchard Road a number of times, an excellent hotel in the business district. Many shopping centres along the Orchard Road. One shopping centre I went often was Lucky Plaza. There are many restaurants there too. Have a nice trip.

For food, there is a few things you must try. Laksa The most famous shop is along Katong Road. There are four shop along that stretch of room and all of them is equally good. While you are there, do try the otah as well. Bak kut teh There are many good one around but my personal favorite is the one along Balestier Road. There are many shop there as well but the one I am recommend is beside Mandalay Road, opposite Shaw Plaza. You can order the trotter leg as well. Hainanese chicken rice There are just too many good chicken rice around. But since you are at Balestier, there is one shop further down the road. The shop is called Boon Tong Kee. Curry fish head Again, there are many good curry fish head around. You can try Muthu's curry at Race Course Road "Scissor cut" curry rice The name came about because the cook uses not knife but scissor to cut the food. There are two shops, one in Geylang and another at Jalan Besar. I recommend the latter. Three dish that you must order are the curry chicken, the pork and the cabbage. The food might not look appetizing, but looks can be deceiving. Address is 229 Jalan Besar. Beef Hor Fun Similarly, there are many shop selling it. But the one I am suggesting is located at Geylang Lor 9. These are some of my recommendation and I believe it will last you a few days. Enjoy your trip to Singapore. Maybe we can meet up and visit some of this stalls.

My son was just there. He enjoyed Universal Studio, Merlion and Orchard. I was also there a few years back. Try the Hardrock Cafe and also the underground mall in Suntech City. As for food, I am not too sure.

The universal studios is one of the reasons why I chose Singapore for my Graduation gift. I will definitely visit this one. Can you give an estimate of how much entrance fee they ask for this famous place? Its a shame to go for a vacation without parents because have to take a tight grip on my budget considering how expensive Singapore tourism is.

Try going to bugis street, you can buy a lot of stuff over there and the things over there are not very expensive. There is also a lot of food you can try there and there is also bugis junction which is air-conditioned if you find the weather to warm. I visit that place at least once a month.
