I see that many people seem to be over budget in December, but that is not really the time of year that I am usually over budget. I mean, the budget is tight no matter what, but I try to put a little money aside all through the year to cover the cost of the holidays. The time that is the worst for me is when we have to buy fuel oil for heating, because I always seem to forget to add that expense into the budget as it only happens a few months of the year. Unfortunately, when it does happen, it is a very large expense that I have to scramble to try to pay.

Yeah, there are always unexpected things that come up that you haven't prepared for and it can be very difficult to do "creative financing" to cover these expenses. We have made it thus far, though, so hopefully we will be lucky enough to continue to find the money somewhere.

It is just one constant stream from about October through December that I am overbudget. However, I am underbudget for the other nine months of the year. So really in the end, it does all even out. With the holidays, I kind of open up the wallet a bit more and am ready to spend some more money than normal. Then I go back to being cheap another nine months of the year.

Hi Ifa!.
Well for me its usually December because Its Christmastime and there so many need to be buy for the love one.
Another thing thats can not be hold because they are so many year end sale and few of my favorite brand usually give discount. So I can not hold myself to shopping again and again. The money never seen enough.

For me it will be June and December.
June- It will be Gawai Festival. A festival to celebrated in Sarawak by the Dayak community.
December - It is Christmas. Yeah, it will be Christmas soon.
If I'm lucky I will have a lot of overtime a month before just to help me cope up with the budget.

hello ifa225!
i have the same problem with you.... overbudget on december, wherein my habit is to shop christmas gifts for everybody. starting to my grandmother, my mom, my sibling, nephews, to my kids and to my man. and i should not forget my godchildren.
i find it cheaper if i give christmas presents to my godchildren than giving them money. wherein their parents would only be benefited with the money. I usually buy in bulk for toys.
and also for the noche buena feast. I make sure i have lots of food in my table, so my children will be excited during christmas season.
Next is june.... during school enrollment. we also need to buy school supplies, uniform, shoes, bag, and books.
its really hard budgeting on these months.
