Hi, I have worked in a corporate environment and noticed that just being a good listener is not enough. You need to speak up and be visible in this competitive environment. So does being a good listener not count at all. What do you all think?

Yea I sorta disagree... I believe in a corporate enviornment that your words are valued more the less you talk, and the more each sentence you say is useful to the ongoing discussion. But thats just my belief, I'm a frim believer in thinking twice and speaking once, thats what employers love.

Listening is an important communication skill...you can't very well speak up if you don't know what the buzz is all about... No matter what field you are in, listening is a very needed skill to succeed!
