It is a fact! We spend so much time looking for t.v. remote! I have this idea to avoid it. You know those wireless phones which you just need to press a button on its base so the phone will ring and you can find it easily? Well T.V. remotes should should have a feature like that! All you have to do is press a button on the T.V. unit and the remote would sound off an alarm! Wouldn't that be great?

That would be great! The remote gets lost all too often. When I first read this I thought you meant like an alarm clock, so you could use your remote as an alarm clock...and it made me laugh! Your idea is great though. I'm really surprised someone hasn't invented that yet because I think it would be a really awesome feature!

You are on to something here--sometimes we spend more time looking for the remote than we do watching the show! And since our on/off button fell off the TV, we really do need the remote. I think you should look into inventing this--you could make a fortune, and do a good deed, too--you would help millions of people from going crazy!

All you have to worry about then is keeping the thing fed with batteries, and maybe not losing the "finder" gizmo itself..unless of course some manufacturer could decide to come up with the idea of building the thing into the casing of the TV itself...

Yes, I would love the remote to have an alarm. I also think it is ridiculous how much time and energy people spend looking for the remote! And I am not pointing fingers here, it goes on my household too. In fact the main thing my daughter and husband argue over on a daily basis is possession of the remote control. It's amazing how technology can turn us into such cripples that we feel we cannot chnage the channel without that little device. Oh, I forgot...it takes too long to flip through those channels with the TV button.

That will be great if it happens. My tv remote is always missing because there are 4 of us in the house, taking turns to switch on and off the tv. Though there's a remote stand on the coffee table in front of the sofa, we hardly use it. While the other remotes in the stand, are hardly used too. My mom and I had the habit of bringing to remote wherever we go, so end up forgetting where we last place it. My brother is the more organized person in the family as he will put everything properly in place before sleeping.

Of course! who wouldn't like to have an alarm in your remote right? I do need an alarm for my remote because i usually forget where I put or place the remote. It will take me 15-30minutes usually to find my remote because there are time that i am busy and can't clean the house hehe

We have the same problems at home. We also spend way too much time looking for the remote. Specially the big TV in the living room which requires two remotes to get it going.
I even have a box for the remotes already in front of the TV, still they end up lost most of the times.
So, an alarm like the phone would be a great idea.

I KNOW RIGHT?! Like when you ring your cellphone when you can't find it! Why haven't tv companies thought of this yet!

Yeh ou are right this would be really good because the amount of times i have tried searching for a T.V remote and i have not been searching in the right room or a toddler has put it somewhere. It would also help blind people find the remote as they could find the TV box.Although this sounds like a moch i think they should make blind TV where they can listen too the TV or put on a radio channel for them or a learning frnch or english channel or whatever language they want too learn i think this would help them a lot with there learning.

Hello friend,
Its indeed a very good idea. I used to struggle finding the remote in my messed up house but thankfully, I've mended my ways and now I make it a point to leave it right up there on the TV stand, so that I know exactly where to look for it. Sometimes I wish even my key ring had an alarm attached. I misplace that more than the remote.
