Why do people diligently to update the status on Facebook?

I think that they are afraid of being cast aside and so its their way to say to you ''hey i'm here''.

Actually i am guilty of that. I just want to express my feeling and what is my situation and my feelings so that my friends is also aware.In short i would like to be notice by others.haha lol

Everyday I am updating my status in facebook,for me that's just for fun and the way of connecting to my friends and batchmates.I am more in facebook playing games..lolz!.When I update my status also I am more putting inspirational sayings.

Everyone likes attention and some like it a lot more. I guess people that update their status all the time need to shout out to people: Here I am! I am doing this! Notice me please! I mostly update my status when I feel like I want to share something with people, usually something I consider fun. That way, people can comment and participate actively to what I say. It's like IM, only with more than two people.

I only update my status a few times a year. Like when I ran a 5K or got back into school. I just can't think of anything else important enough to update it with. My brother updates his status every run he makes with the splits and how many miles he's done. He's training for a marathon. I like reading other people's statuses however. I like to see what my friends are up to.

Hello advokatku! I am one of the guilty parties in status updating in facebook! lol! May be because I just want to get noticed, honestly hehehe! And also to say what I am feeling for the day, like this is some kind of my outlet, I only accept friends on facebook that I really know of, I don't accept strangers so that means, my friends understand, cheers!

some people maybe don't have something to do but updating status, maybe they just wanna tell us about what the are doing, maybe they wanna show off about that make people will look up to them, maybe they wanna get attention from their friends

they're diligent maybe because of the trend of microblogging and social media's role... to create user-generated content... in this case, with the updates, his/her friends maybe updated to what they're doing or recommend... and if they want update people on what's happening in his her life... I guess you can base the question also in twitter... :D

i think maybe people always update status in facebooj because he wanna tell his ownfriends about his condition , show his wxistency in web world . become most famous people in this community . i think it could be a place to express oue emotion , sometimes its good , but sometimes it feels like mocking other , but yeah , a technology will have a benefit and a risk too
