Do you believe that religious people are really good...?

I believe in God strongly. But I always feel guilty that I don't spend enough time to religious activity. Spending enough time to our own religious activity is our task. Now coming to the point: I divided the religious people into two group. Some religious people are really good and the keep their heart always pure. This group number one. I feel guilty when seeing people like this. And I respect them. some people use religious activity as a drama. their heart is full with sins. I easily identify these people. I hate these sort of people. these people are group number two.

religion doesn't make you a good person. there are good people and bad people. whether or not they believe in the existance of a deity or not will not make them a good person or a bad person. people of all religions or none at all are capable of being good people or being bad people. the religion or lack of doesn't change who they are. it's very sad that a lot of people think morality comes from religion, when really it comes from inside, and religious people are no more moral than atheists. I believe I am a good person. I care about the Earth, and those that I share this Earth with. I like to help where I can. I am kind to others. I do all these things because of the sort of person that I am, not because I believe that my Gods will reward or punish me for my deeds. good deeds done for the sake of reward or to avoid punishment are not true good deeds. not so much now, but some years ago, when there was a lot more misconception about Paganism, people were surprised on finding out my religion because I am nice. although why they thought that a Pagan wouldn't be is baffling. your religion is between you and your Gods or God. your goodness is between you and the rest of the world.

Sometimes good is subjective I guess it depends which religion you are in. Generally just because you pray every single day and never miss a religious activity doesn't make you a good person, religious yes but not necessarily good. I think Jesus made it clear on the parable of Good Samaritan.

Look, there is no connection between religious people and their habits , behavior and business. The people who are running illegal business network also do prayers and pray for a good business. Because its written in their fate to do illegal work , so they are doing with or without their wish , but still they believe in their religion.

Being religious you have to believe in the bible of your creed which has good and bad in it. Most people try to follow the good teachings which would make them good. However, whenever hate, jealousy or anger enters the picture goodness and religion is set aside temporally until the rage is over. When confronted and rebuked for their evil deed/s the blame is passed on to the devil. He takes the blame and the culprit remains religiously good.

From by observation religious people are no better or worse than non-religious people. It should be that religious people should be better, since they supposedly believe in God and that should make them better people but look around and we see it isn't so.

most religious is good. but i don't deny that there is some or maybe few people religious is not good as we thought. and they just pretending when they do that. but we never know which one is fake and which one is not

The Bible actually says that all people are evil. In fact Jeremiah 17:9 says "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?" The point being that we all have evil within us. It's easier to be selfish than selfless. Easier to hate someone who bugs us, than love someone who cares about us. Easier to prideful, and arrogant, than humble and meek. This is why the story in the Bible about a God in Heaven who loves us despite these glaring sinful ways, is so amazing. Why would God send his son Jesus Christ to die with evil people like myself? I can think of no reason at all why anyone, let alone God will give a rip about me. Yet that's what the Bible teaches. So when I try and be a good person. I'm not doing it because I'm religious. Or I'm special. Or any other lame excuse I can come up with. I'm only trying to be a person that would please a God of the Universe sent his son to die for. Not because of my wonderful self, but because of God's wonderful self.

I'm afraid that you're wrong, there are many people who don't belong to any religion in this world. Everyone is free to believe what they want, being a religion or true facts. I don't belong to any religion and I think I am a good person. Being a good or a bad person isn't related to be part of one, another, or no religion, in my opinion.

It depends, I think, sometimes, that's really a very good thing for some people who have no faith. people can get lost in there lives, have a religion or trust in soething can make them get through it, and make their lives more easier

One of the core Christian beliefs is the depravity of man, Meaning No One is good enough "for all have sinned" Thus everyone has a need for a savior. So in that essence no one is really good.

I don't think religion has anything to do with whether a person is 'good' or not. The definition of a good person is relative in any case. People are people. And some of them just suck. Even the ones that go to church.

Hi chayapathys, Religious people are like everyone else, if we look for the good we will find it but if we look for the bad we'll find that too. Going to church, mosque, or temple and reading your holy book doesn't make you a good person. Actions speak louder than words or as Jesus Christ put it,"a good tree brings forth good fruit". We are not meant to judge anyone, remember the religious person was probably indoctrinated as a child just as the atheist sometimes is. Blessings.

Good Evening dear Chayapathys , well actually i intend to contradict you just a little bit acording to everyone beloging to a certain relgiion , for example i'll take myself , when i was a children , from seven up untill my nine years old i was obligated to go every Sunday with my grandmother at the church , and i used to like to go at the begining because i had meet a lot of new friends there and even a few girls that i liked , but besides that , the religion dind't ment something serios for me , ( i forgot to mention , but the church i was used to go , was an orthodox church ) . Now that i have grown up , i dont call myself an orthodox , catholic , protestant or muslim or jewish , because i am none of those , i simply believe that there is a God that had created earth , every now and then ( specially when i feel bad and i need guidance and help ) i pray and try to talk to almighty God , but i dont go to church anymore , and i dont believe in priests or profets. As for your question , i believe that there are alot of people whom are religios and have done bad deeds , and they try to have a connection with God , simply because they feel guilty for what they have done and they want to repent and clear theire constience , but this does not mean that they are mean or bad people ,they had simply made some bad choice in theire life and that is not for me to judge , and i believe that there are some people whom are simply bad and they are posing as religios ( Again i am not religios , i have my own vision of things and of God , and i do not pose as a believer in front of my entourage ) I wish you a great evening dear friend. I think, the basic thing is that , we have to be human, Religion teaches us how to be human first, then adapt good deeds, behave good with others etc.. We must be human, i we have been able to be real human,World would be safe, as far as the religious people concerned, i think we can not measure, religious people are good are bad, There are bad and good people in every section of life, but it does not mean religion is bad, the bad would be our character, we must try to make human first, then we should think about religion.

Religion have nothing to do with being good and bad :) First good and bad depends on the person and the view point but well overall we know good as helpful and great to others and bad well someone that make mean stuff :P It a long definitions , thats not the point ;) Well first you are or good or bad and the religion have nothing to do with it , there can be good non religious and bad non religious and the other way around - good religions and bad religion people , some people that are insane take too serious some religion and kill/steal for it - and well that more of person insanity but still he is religious , when normally religions teach people to be good to each other . I really dont think believe have nothing to do with being good and bad .

Not at all. It doesn't depend on religious. I think that depend on personally conscience.
