How nice for the band. Is your son in it?
(Do you get to go along on the cruise?)
Hope the band doesn't get seasick.

Oh yes, he plays the flute & the piccolo in the band! I forgot to mention, the cruise ship is going to the Bahamas! I could go along as a chaperon for an extra cost but I decided not to go. I need to get his paperwork in order. He needs to have either a certified birth certificate or passport. I have the birth certificate but just can't find it right now because we just moved recently and not sure where it is.

When I was a teenager I went on a trip down the River Thames on a training ferry. It was January so the weather was miserably cold. We all had a system where we had to do a night shift.
I haven't been on a cruise for tourists. I think that a cruise would go to interesting places but not spend much time in any of these. I think that your son has done very well to be given the chance to play on the Carnival Sensation cruise ship.
I hope that the cruise in March will be very enjoyable.

I have never been on an actual cruise myself (though was on a cruise ship overnight from France to Ireland). My parents just took a cruise and really enjoyed it. WOW! That is so cool that their high school band has been asked to play. I hope they get to enjoy the sights and have some fun on the cruise as well.

OMG! Go for it!!!!
A year ago, my husband went on the Carnival Liberty and sailed from M iami to the Eastern Caribbean.
It is heavenly.
I highly recommend going.
Everything is done for you....the only thing you worry about is which sundress...or bathing suit you are going to wear.
When do they plan on going?

Yes, our family went on a cruise several years ago when our kids were younger. It was really fun, the food was excellent and there were plenty of things for the kids to do. However, I am not much interested in cruising again. We were on the Carnival Cruise Lines. Hope your son has a great time on the big ship.

My husband and I are talking about taking a cruise somewhere, as soon as we get the money, and his landed immigrant papers come in. We want to cruse around Croatia, Italy, Matla, Serbia, Turkey, Greece...

How very nice! I like to go to the edge of the water, but am not enthusiastic about riding a ship in it. I don't mind flying over quickly in a plane, just the edge of the water, you know, but I have never taken a transatlantic flight. Surely the food on cruise ships is wonderful.

No, Not yet. I wanted to take my wife on a European cruise for our 20th anniversary but she refused to leave the kids for that long. But hopefully when the kids get older we can do it. I would also like to take an Alaskan cruise. I have heard that it is really beautiful there and I think it would be a really cool experience.

I've long wanted to go on a cruise, but I haven't had a good opportunity to go on one yet. My ideal would be to go on a world cruise; of course, that would probably require winning the lottery.
Your son will probably love the cruise. There will be a ton of things to do.

The only cruises I've been on are day cruises on a river.

Actually, I've never yet had the opportunity to go on a cruise, but it is something that I would like to be able to do at least once in my life. Do you know yet if your son's band is going to accept the invitation? I know that I most definitely would because it would be a great honor to be invited to play on a ship or really anywhere that isn't in your immediate community. Hope that they have fun if they do get to go.

No I have never been on a cruise. I would like to go I think it would be interesting the places we could go seeing my hubby doesn't fly. But we'd have to drive some distance to get to a harbor where a cruise ship would be stationed. Too much hassel and not enough funds at this point in our lives.

Hi, long time no see...
I was on two, one was Norwegian, a cruise of the west Caribbean. The other was in the Galapagos. I liked both of them for different reasons. Norwegian was kind of luxurious, all sorts of dining choices, casino, trips, games, spa, etc. Galapagos was more about the scenery and the unusual animals there.

I was a cruise ship about 20 years ago. It was called Dolphin and while it was my first cruise and I was excited, I soon learned that our boat was nothing compared to Carnival which had docked next to us. I use to have pictures of the the two together. Our boat looked like a bathtub in comparison. We did have fun on our cruise and we also had fun drooling over the extreme partying they did on the Carnival boat each night. If I were to do it again, I would go Carnival!

No, not on a long and proper one anyway. But I would love to go on a real, fancy one in the Caribbean!

I have been on several cruises and I think your going to have so much fun the Carnival line is more kid or teen friendly oriented and other than that I have used Royal Carribean we try to go on a cruise at least every other year. When planning in advance it's very duable despite the economy.
