Making my own soap

Does anybody know anything about making soap, cold process method. I have started to make my own soap and I am so pleased with it that I fancy selling it on ebay, when I get a little better at making it look as pretty as it smells. The only problem I am having at the moment is finding a chemist who will certify my soap recipe for a reasonable amount of money. I am not rich, but I do make good soap. In the UK there is legislation to make sure that the soap is safe for public usage, very good idea I think but we cannot all afford it. So does anyone know of a reasonably priced chemist who can legally do this.
