Hi myLotters,
Searching my ID 'Keval32' over Internet, I have found a link that took me to the website where I found a discussion started by me here on myLot. I just shocked to see that it was thoroughly copied from myLot. (Probably you'll also get shocked when you will see it)
It was highly responded discussion started by me, it was titled "Have you ever tried to cut your own hair?". That website has picked up one response from my discussion and put that as a discussion detail, and other responses as a responses to that particular discussion.
I wonder that why they do things like this? For driving traffic to their website? They're thieves.
Go here and see response no: 6, they've put it as a discussion details and my reply to that response as a response. Check it yourself.
Original discussion started by me on myLot: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2313032.aspx
Discussion link of that thief website:

i started a similar discussion on this topic. The only difference was, the one who copied my "entire discussion",put it right here on Mylot. If it wasn't for another member who found the duplicate discussion, i probably wouldn't have known a thing about it. People who do this are in my opinion, too lazy or unintelligent to do their own work,so, they feel the need to "steal" someone elses ideas.i'm so sorry this happened to you, since i know exactly how you must feel about this

The difference is, myLot is allowed to post our content elsewhere. I believe that was the case here. In your case, that is plagiarism and should be reported.

Really? I didn't know Mylot was allowed to do this, good to know.As far as my discussion goes, the person who found the duplicate, did report it and it ended up being deleted. The thing is, i have no idea how long it stayed posted before it was found and deleted and no idea who the member was who copied it.

I went to page 1 of the thread on forumhealthcare.org and each post is copied word for word to each post on the thread of myLot. Like each post matches up to its respective post on the other website. It's weird...

That certainly looks like a case of plagiarism. Since it is a forum, it is not the website's fault (though it is their responsibility).
The forum software is supplied by phpBB and whatever goes on in the forums they supply or run is not their responsibility. You should contact the Admins of the Forum or the website owner, as it says here (from the FAQs):
"Who do I contact about abusive and/or legal matters related to this board?
Any of the administrators listed on the “The team” page should be an appropriate point of contact for your complaints. If this still gets no response then you should contact the owner of the domain (do a whois lookup) or, if this is running on a free service (e.g. Yahoo!, free.fr, f2s.com, etc.), the management or abuse department of that service. Please note that the phpBB Group has absolutely no jurisdiction and cannot in any way be held libel over how, where or by whom this board is used. Do not contact the phpBB Group in relation to any legal (cease and desist, libel, defamatory comment, etc.) matter not directly related to the phpBB.com website or the discrete software of phpBB itself. If you do e-mail phpBB Group about any third party use of this software then you should expect a terse response or no response at all."
There are several websites which are owned and run by MyLot/Waseringtech and which, quite legitimately, republish selected discussions/posts from MyLot. This is covered in the Terms and is something that many people have not read (but have, nevertheless, agreed to).
The site you have referred to above is NOT one of Waseringtech's sites, however.
You can see the registration details here: http://www.who.is/whois/forumhealthcare.org/ It seems, however, that the actual owner has hidden their real name by subscribing to a Privacy organisation (ID Domain Privacy Network). The only means of contacting the actual owner of the site is either through them or by subscribing to and logging on to the forum and contacting an Admin or Moderator.

This has come up before. MyLot has a lot of other sites they are affiliated with. They do post some of our content over on those other sites. This is allowed in our agreement with myLot. I thought I still had the link, but I can't find it. Sorry...

As long as I don't know about this stuff I really don't care about it! If Mylot has the rights to do that well so be it! i rather worry about other things then what could happen like it did to you Keval32! I have other things more important to worry about!

This is so unethical of them! I will not respect those sites who steal content from the original author. This could be subject to legal settlement. I wish Mylot has a cyber-policing section to police the net for stolen discussions from Mylot. I just hate all those cyber thieves. Why are they so hard up? Why must they resort to this? I hope justice will be returned to you soon.

It's called plagraism when another writer steals from some other writer. This is how some people get fresh content for their web or blog. If this forum site has guidelines and rules governing such acts then you may be able to complain to this forum admin. Good luck on whatever you decide.

This is a classic freedom of speech no rights ara all over again. people all over the internet complain that they came up with this and that, well posting a blog or writing a comment does not in any way make it an official saying by you as a person. if the document or text is copyrighted then you have the right to complain lol.
