Why aren't you a self-starter?

Why do certain individuals always need a push to get them going? Or they have to have a cup of coffee or nicotine stick to get their head together every morning? Isn't being a mature responsible adult enough?

For this is easy why I not a self starter: I am too afraid of failing or getting rejected. Some days are easier and I fight through it on other days when it is harder project to complete I seem to get over wlemed etc..
Yes, being mature means being a responsible adult.
