With the economy tight, many people are squeezed for money. That puts pressure on them when it comes to buying Christmas gifts. God,what am I going to do???? As with any problem, one must work to find an answer. The knowledge is in the journey. If we are short on money, we just need to come up with a few more ideas. Perhaps the gifts will be better this year. Thought and caring always bring better results. Think back at all the gifts you really remember. Weren't they the spiritual ones, the ones that touch the soul and warm the heart?? You bet!! So tell me all your ideas and I'll give you a few of mine. I know a lady that gave her children a collage of pictures from the time her kids were born until present day. Can't get things that special at a store. I think certificates are big. You can give a certificate for most everything. This certificate is good for an extra hug, or breakfast in bed, how about a foot rub, or a back massage, do the laundry for a week, cook a favorite meal, do the yard work, wash the car. You get the idea. Nothing like the personal touch with the service. There are lots of free gifts in nature waiting for us all. How about plants of all kinds?? I think seeds make a wonderful gift. Find some seashells. Make a picture, glue pieces of rock on a board or paper. Make a bean bag. Cut a frog shape out of old clothes then make a stuffed animal. Holly bushes are colorful in making a wreath. Let's not forget the pine cones and a few needles to get the house smelling like Christmas. Nothing like getting a cute little puppy for Christmas. People give puppies away to good homes in the paper every week. If you have just a little bit of money, there are places to shop that are very cheap. Goodwill or veteran's stores are all across the USA. Look for places that auction things. I bought some furniture for next to nothing one time. Look for estate sales, garage sales, and going out of business sales. It might take a bit of work but this could be the best Christmas ever!!! I have received lots of gifts over the years. My favorite gifts are the HUGS!!! Love is the one thing we must all be sure to give this Christmas. It's the one thing that will stay with you!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS. Everyone!!

Hi. I have no money like you. SO, I just go out side to look at the decoration of mall or supermarket. I like to go aroung the center of the city to enjoy the atmosphere. You can also go with your friends just to enjoy it. Don't need to spend money ^^

Yes, looking at all the Christmas lights will get a person in that Christmas spirit. Some people really go all out with the lights. I wonder if they realize the joy they are spreading??? Thanks for all your comments!!

I make homemade gift baskets full of goodies. With my husband's family always dropping by last minute and not always calling first I came to the realization that I do not always buy enough gifts. I make baskets full of candy, cookies and bread. His family really appreciates it and they look forward to them every year. This year if I had not been so busy I would have done more homemade gifts, but because I am in graduate school and money had been tight I had not been able to get many things done.

Homemade gifts are the most original and hold the most love. This year my son made ornaments from clay that we had.

The true essence of CHRISTmas is not about the gifts. Even if you have little money you can still buy small items but of quality products and I know it will surely be appreciated especially by the kids. We also give gifts as a gesture of our love to our loved ones and friends. It also depends on us how we express our love during this season.

I know what you mean about not having all that much money around Christmas. But you just have to make do with what you've got, and hopefully that's enough on it's own. I tell everyone what I plan on spending on them, and that they should spend the same or less - just so that no one over-spends, you know? And it's important to get creative... This is not something I do (lol) but I should. I just need to learn some creative trade - like crafts or knitting or painting or something. Those kinds of "creative" gifts are always a good idea - more personal, actually took more effort than swiping your debit card at a store, and is (hopefully) cheaper. I love the act of buying gifts though. I just love it. I think I would rather buy awesome gifts and be totally broke than the alternate. lol. But Merrry Christmas to you, too! Hope it's a good one regardless of financial matters!

So, you love that shopping experience. I'm one of those get in then out quick shoppers. I have never been crazy for crowds. As for arts and crafts, Give it a try. You might just discover a hidden talent. Thanks for all your comments

Yes, there are a lot of chores that go along with Christmas. I would say that is a Great Gift having it all done for me. Ma and Pa have been taking care of things for years. Such a wonderful gift just to relax and enjoy. Thanks for all your comments!!
