Internet Explorer Not working

Today when i opened my IE8 after a long time i found its not working.It opens an then
close automatically.I guess i have some problem with my PC.My Windows Update is alos not working.I have no idea what to do please help me.

that's a known issue with IE 8. try the restore advanced settings and reset button under internet option. since you can't open the browser itself, go to control panel then internet option (make sure you have your window on classic).
if your IE 8 wasn't preinstalled when you got your computer then uninstall IE8 to go back to a previous version. if not then you'll need to reinstall the program completely.

i dont have the option of uninstalling it,its not getting uninstalled so have to reboot my system i guess some files have got corrupt so have no other option.
