I just opened my account today. I haven't opened it for almost a month. Then I saw this lovely lady who send me a message saying:
Hey, I added you since you look familiar, but once I saw your profile I knew I was wrong.. but hey, you seem like a cool guy so ill introduce myself :) I am quirky, funny, and always down to have a good time.. I moved here about six months ago from a little town in Idaho for work and like it so far! Check out my profile.. if you want to Id love to meet up sometime for coffee. Anyways, I wanted to attach more pictures of me but its giving me some stupid error! If you send me back your e-mail address I can just send my pics to you that way. Hope to hear from you soon!
I don't haven't uploaded any photos yet in facebook. But she said I am familiar to her. She encountered problem in email how could that possible?
Is she trying to get my email to hacked my account in facebook?

That is really strange. I do not use Facebook, so I do not have any real explanation there, but I have things like that happen in my regular e mail. I am a woman, but I get messages every now and then that someone wants my private e mail, and it is usually a woman and she wants to be my really good friend. I report them as spam from my e mail. Is there a way to do that on Facebook?

Go to the person's profile page,I think they have a spot under thier profile picture that says "Report/block this user"

That is why I check every friend request. If there are no friends in common, and I have no idea who this person is, I refuse the request.
There was a warning about this one awhile ago. Must of been while you were off of facebook.. Happy you didn't accept or send your email.

Yes that email sounds a bit odd and my first thought would be that if someone could not upload photos as this person stated then they would need to contact their provider administrator.
So for sure my first thought would be never to send private pictures. There are so many scam type emails today and just last week I received one to my personal paid email of this women saying I am a young hot something, something looking for a good time.
So me being a straight women and my personal paid email address is not something I issue out to no one, so I simply replied in big capitalized boded letters that if she contacted me again I was reporting her immediately. I never heard back so I suppose she got the message. LOL..
I suppose because it is not a free email account people like her know she will have issues over someone reporting it. Either this or I just got luck. LOL

This has never happened to me yet but I would not agree for you to give her your email address, because that sounds like just a trick to me. Be very careful and I hope no one else will fall to this kind of message because I'm sure the same person probably is sending the same message to the few different people on facebook. We can clearly tell that she is lying by saying you looked familiar to her even though you did not upload any profile picture on your facebook. Good luck and have a nice day

I agree, that's a hacker alright.. and could be maniac one... be careful in giving away your email add. I heard the same kind of story from other FB users. That's pretty scary you know..

haha =D Maybe? Recently, facebook seems to have quite alot of problem of its own. Even my account has been attempted to log in over in USA even though i have not been there.. lol =D ANd i've got funny messages from my friends in facebook, when i asked them, they told me they are not the ones whom send it.. lol =D Thus, i'm sure that facebook is not as safe as it's supposed to be, and so i'm not active in there at all.. haha

I think the person just wanted to get your email address to be able to spam you. This sort of thing happens often in social networking sites. I have had many approaches by people who claimed to be good looking women wanting my email address to email me. Just report them as spam and their accounts will be cancelled.

hello syoti,
I guess it's same thing with emails that i have been receiving recently, saying almost same words.
And since i received those messages in my email, there is a picture attached.
And i can see that it's a girls picture, and she is addressing me like a guy, saying that she was amused with my profile because i looks cool and that my profile seems to tell how good man i am (me?..a man? )
Most of the emails i've received were of black girls (from the photos attached)
I wonder where they'd getting my email...hackers?...uh uh

Well, she may not be a hacker but she's definitely a spammer. Although I still didn't see such cases in facebook, I have seen a lot of cases on MSN. Many anonymous people sent me friend requests, once I have accepted those friend requests, they started to spam with some generic statements with links to some undesirable websites. In more severe cases, they also keep sending me private messages on myspace which is linked with hotmail or just spam my email.

It is not only in face book, but in most social friendship sites, they ask you to write to their email addrees, telling they will send pictures, i tried twice, they sent pictures etc, these letters are from scammers in Africa..
Thank you so much for sharing.
Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .
God bless you.
Welcome always.

It could be. I always consider that spam. Well, too many of it but after a day or two,you will see the account being deactivated. That is what admins do and thanks to those who press Report / Spam :)
Just remember dont give ouy any email or details about yourself to others who you dont know.
