Getting enough sleep?

I heard that an average amount of time a person should sleep a night is 8 hours. Yet even though I get about that much, I still feel tired in the morning. One day though, I went to sleep later and got about 6 hours of sleep and I realized that I actually felt wide-awake when I woke up. So is it that the amount of sleep people need differs from person to person? I want to know how much do you guys sleep and how you feel in the morning.

I get slightly under that. Maybe six and a half, seven hours of sleep but it is enough for me. I think many times, it really depends on the person. There is really no standard. Some people can function on less than eight hours. Some people need much more to sleep. I am falling under the slightly less sleep category myself.

Well you are right it differs from person to person but most people now adays sleep for 8 hours or even more especially teenagers at there growing age.I find the computer also keeps me tired i dont know why it just does and know it looks like there is big bags under my eyes hopefully i will feel less tired in the near future and it deppnds what time i go to sleep deppending what day it is and whether or not i have work in the morning as if you was me you would not like to be falling asleep infront of you boss in a meeting or on the presses. It also deppends what jobs you do as those that work on the internet like most of you will need less sleep as you will not need to use as much energy.

You're right, each person needs about 8 hours of sleep. But for me, I sleep about 7 hours and sometimes even lesser. So at times when I sleep lesser, I'll come home and take a nap to make up for the lost hours.

Six hours of sleep is just about enough, i guess it goes with old age...LOL! Straight six hours without interruption and an hour nap during the day that makes my day just right..

Yup most people need 8 hours of sleep to manage their days however i would just need about 4 hours of sleep. But the problem is once i sleep it would be very hard for me to wake up at all. I find that to be a little troublesome at times. I try to cope with it though. I listen to music read books and have many other activities that make me be awake for the entire night itself! Cheers!
