Hi there, here is my new discussion today enjoy... and share We believe in God, right? He is the creator of the universe, He control everything.. I heard that all good and blessings are from above. God is good and justice. What do you think God is doing also bad things? How? see below word from the bible and ask your views in this regard.. Isaiah 45:6-7 - that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil. I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things. Need your arguement about this, because I'm not telling this but from the bible... see you around. From your views we will learn.

God Bless you visavis.... From Bible King James Version - Isaiah 45:6-7 6That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Relatively to your discussion are also relate to these. And also much more in the Bible, including why God allow Jesus Christ His son to suffer and die with the feelings and the emotions of all humanity can experience also. Jeremiah 18:11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good. Ezekiel 20:26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through [the fire] all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I [am] the LORD. Does God bring good and bad upon people? Yes He does. The problem is our perspective. To us it sometimes appears as bad. To God it is righteous. God must always be the only God. God must always be God. God's thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. God's nature is good. He is not evil. He cannot sin and He can do no wrong. His judgment upon us is a very loving and good thing to do. He allow judgment to come through, He is just as good and loving. He is exercising His righteousness for a purpose. He delivers righteous judgment to those who oppose Him in sinfulness. This is good and right to do.

Well, god did not write the bible, it's the humans who wrote it.

But the humans who wrote it did so in the light of their experience and conviction. If this is not recognised, then it well illustrates the contrast between light and darkness in the reader (and shows that, whether you believe in God or not, He nevertheless created you.)

What this means is that the existence of something always implies a lack of it as well. If you have light, then there must be darkness; if you have good, then you must also have things that are not good. If a photo were all white or all black, you would throw it out as of no interest or a failure. It is the contrasts of light and shadow that make it real and comprehensible as a picture.

I see that we differ somewhat, Bannybanzie, in our beliefs on the nature of 'punishment'. I do not believe that God punishes humanity or any human in particular. Like many concepts of the nature of 'God', I believe that is out-dated and a misunderstanding of the Truth, especially when natural disasters are seen as 'divine retribution for sins committed'. It should always be accepted that the search for Truth (or, rather, the search for a proper understanding of it) is ongoing and that many earlier concepts can be seen to be false and due to the limits of human understanding at a certain point in time. I do not, however, throw the baby out with the bathwater: I recognise that there are many abiding and wise descriptions of Truth in the Bible - both the Old and New Testaments - but that everything should be understood within the confines of its historical context of a human journey in search of Truth.

Hi owlwings! There is actually a clear explanation of this thing. Please take some time to look at my response below. Evil does not always mean wrongdoing. It may also mean "calamity". God brought calamity to those who, though have been warned about what God will do, still refused to obey God and therefore God should give the punishment He has said he will. Please take some time to look at my response below. Also, owlwings, I think that you are an eager person who wants to search the truth based on what I have seen in your comments in other discussions, too. That is really good. I hope to see you around more. :)

Hi visavis, you have a point there. The farmer whom we expect to produce only grain why in the end reaps the harvest of husk? After all he did not want to produce husk. Whenever we ask for something we get not only what we had asked but we also get what we did not ask. Whenever we clean our homes why we gather lots of dirt and unwanted things? It is not so that we are producers of unwanted things, but we willy-nilly produce them while we are cleaning our homes. Same thing happened while God was creating this world. While he was creating light the light was separated from darkness and darkness too was created. While he was creating good things, the good separated good things from the evil and thus the evil too was created. God did not create evil, it was already there, only thing God did was to keep it aside to destroy it. God does not want to destroy evil right now because he is afraid while destroying it he might not destroy us too. Remember what happened in Noah's time. While destroying the evil in the world he could salvage only Noah with few things, and then he made a covenant with man that he would never ever again destroy the world.

Well.... this is an interesting topic. Let me just say a few words. God is the creator of all things good and bad. Bad, in order to ennoble a person. If everything in this world is good we would all have been dumbos. Don't we learn through pains and sufferings?? ;) ehhe.. ;)
