Love dogs?!

Hey guys! I been wanting to ask this question... is there such thing as "love dogs?".... If there is a thing as love birds then there should be a love dogs right?... wondering why I presumed this?.. well, we had a dog once, two dogs rather, and both have served us well through the years. But one day due to being old our male dog got ran over by a car, because he was able to go out our vicinity and had a nap under the parked car in our neighborhood. So he died and we were devastated... also our female dog became very depressed and slept early that night. when morning came we found her dead in her bed, stiff as a stuffed animal. I was wondering why she died because she ate well that night, although she was rather gloomy, never the less all the usual things was carried on and then she was gone too.... the only partner animals I knew who died almost simultaneously are love birds... is it possible that there are love dogs too?....
