It will be 21 for the next few days we have some snow the wind chill is 1 degree here. We have the heat on in the house but this place isn't insulated very well so it is only about 50 degrees inside the house. We are dressed in layers but can still feel the cold chilly winds. We will stay in the house and not go out today. Just plain too cold to do anything. God I pray that this cold goes away soon! Is your house insulated very well? How cold is it where you are at? Do you dress in layers when it is cold?

Is that Fahrenheit or Centigrade? Well, here it's been well below freezing and yesterday we had a respite from the cold as it got to a balmy 7 degrees C for the football match.
Whoopee!
As far as layers of clothing go, yes, I have a few! It ranges from 3 layers, sometimes 4, then a thick coat on top of all that. Oh, not forgetting the scarf and gloves. I have been known to wear a hat as well but it makes my head itch (Made in China) so I've gone off it somewhat, even though it's ace.
The house does have loft insulation, which is important. If a house in this country doesn't have it (like Mum's) a lot of the heat can escape. However, our heating system is old and needs replacing. The main fire in the living-room doesn't work so we rely on the central heating. If it goes below freezing outside, the heating over-compensates for little gain, temperature wise.
I actually prefer going out and about when it's cold as I can move around, whereas here, unless I've got something pressing to do, I'm sat down, therefore feeling the cold more.
ROLL ON SPRING!!

Hi Janey. My husband said it was Fahrenheit I don't know the difference I just know it is frezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz cold........LOL I put on two pairs of long johns and a pair of pants on top of that and it seems to be all I can stand to wear gets too heavy after that. I don't have a lot of feeling in my hands due to an old injury so not wise for me to put on gloves. I can't feel anything with gloves on my hands. I do wear a hat though. I have pretty long hair and I use it like a scarf around my neck so it keeps my neck wram. I wish I could move around better with all these layers on but seems like it makes me feel like a polar bear with way too much fat.......LOL Now if I have something I have to do I will go out and do what ever it is.

Hi Janey. They said the wind chill was on 1 chill factor it has been really cold this year. Thanks for thinking about us that means a lot my friend. I hate wearing a lot of clothing so when the weather is warm enough I am in shorts till the cold sets in again. But during the winter months it is best to stay in layers here better safe then sorry.

Goodness me, 32 degrees fahrenheit equates to 0 degrees centigrade, so if you are experiencing 21 degrees fahrenheit that's WAY colder than it's been here. I'm not surprised you don't like it and I really feel for you having to layer up like that. I am not a great lover of the cold but to experience cold like you are at the moment, well, it doesn't bear thinking about.
I will be thinking of you and anyone else who has to experience PROPER cold weather. It makes the UK's cold weather look tame in comparison.

Really too cold for comfort. The late teens, early twenties seem to be the high around my neck of the woods. Dropping below zero for the low. So its not going to be some good times. I tend to head outside the least amount of time possible and when I do, its in several layers of clothes during this harsh, insane blasts of weather.

It's going to be about 40 here, which sounds great to me, given how poor the weather has been. My home is warm and I am happy to stay there right now!

Hi Chad and welcome to my lot. I like it when it is at least 60 can put up with that. I hate dressing in layers to stay warm. Thank God we only have a few months of this cold. We are outside people love being outside doing something but when it is this cold we don't get to do much outside. I don't like the real hot weather either but at least when it gets too hot we can go jump in the creek and cool off. When it is cold like this seems like you can't put on enough to stay warm. We like it when it starts getting warm enough to go out in shorts.

Good evening dear mylotter friend free_man , it has actually been quite a while since the last time i have responded to one of your discussion , but if it has been like this , it is most likely because of my lack of activity here on mylot , not at all because i did not responded to your discussions when i saw them , i really liked your discussionns , so now that i have re-taken the activity here on mylot here i am , answering to all my friends discussionns once again.
So as it goes for the cold , i am living in Europe , more acurrately in Belgium , and the last years ( mostly three , and been living for only five years in belgium ) , the winters here had been pretty calmly and not that cold as the present year , so dont get me wrong i had used to live in roumania , and i cann say that i am pretty used to temperatures down much bellow zero ,for example in Roumania every winter there are temperatures of minues ten - fifteeen - and twenty degree Celsius , so yes when i say that i was used to those types of winters i really mean it , but here in belgium , when we had good winters , we were rarely down bellow zero deep enough , the minimum for the good and calm winters were sometimes minus six , minus seven degree celsius , but this year it had started to resemble a little bit to Roumania , with temperatures of minus ten and the biggest registered this year was minus thirteen , but the thing that i love about it , it is that we had snow , wich is pretty rare for Belgium , and we had Good snow period , wich i liked because i has reminded me of roumania in somewhat reasones.
I hope you get enough heat in your house , specially with the hollidays coming.
I wish you a verry great evening dear friend.

Good Morning my friend Bagputza. It is 6:35am and it is only about 16 right now. It is good to see you back. I like your descriptions of the weather you are having. When I was a small child we lived in Kentucky and the way you described the weather in Belgium sounded just like it was in that state. Had lots of fun then we took the hood off one of dads vehicles and would make a sled out of it. I don't think I could have lived in Roumania for long for the weather would have killed me.
So what you been up to my friend? Where you been? Are you ready for the holidays?
Happy Holidays to you my friend and hope to see more of you!

Hi free-man, i pray that your house get insulatedgood soon. You can also find substitute to keep warm like taking alot of food that make your body warm, like taking lots of mutton or any kind of fluid that can keep the body warm or find what kind of food/fruit/vege/fluids does. Come over to my country its always warm and sunny with rain at times here.

Hi Acrossnation. It will be insulated as we earn the money to do so. Never at mutton what is it like? Wish I could go to other countries but can't afford to do that yet! We stay warm enough I just complain about the cold I hate the cold. But to get the warm we have to go through the cold too. Where is your country at? What kinds of seasons do you have?
Can't eat a lot these days my husband will be making a lot of sweets for the holidays and I want to be able to eat a little of them. I have to watch what I eat or I will gain too much weight and don't want that! Thanks my friend for all your advice!
