How to make this new site interesting?

Hello, I and my friends are working on developing a new website, actually my friends redesigned the old site, making it more interesting. It is an online soccer forum, please check at:http://soccerpulse.compiegeek.com. The links are not all opened yet, that`s why we need your suggestion on how to make it more interesting. There are some similar sites, like SKY, FOX,ESPN and we have to be different from others. Any suggestion?please help, thank you
