Like two sides of the coin, the internet is a blessing and a dilemma. With the latest informaction technology, major changes happen in life. Internet allows anyone to work from anywhere, shop, to build communication and interactive.
However, the internet makes you glued to the screen and spend more time than you realize. When you're surfing to find something, unconsciously, you have to move from one site to the next.
According to the American Psyhiatric Association, internet addiction appears from the existence of three or more symptoms that occur in a period of 12 months.
1.) Tolerance level increasd, while levels statisfaction decreases. From time to time, you need more time surfing the internet to get the same statisfaction.
2.) Loss of social interaction. You tend to pull away for a few days a month while reducing the time surfing in the network. These symptoms then endanger or impair your ability to interact socially.
3.) The only way to solve the problem is to use the internet.
4.) Using the internet more often and longer, then you want.
5.) Spent most of the evening with activities related to the internet.
6.) Stop doing social interaction with people around, work or recreational activities and replacing them online.
7.) Risks losing an important relationship, job, educational or career opportunity because of excessive internet use.
*) Do you agree with the above?
**) Do you have another opinion?
***) If you have the above criteria?

Surfing the internet is a hobby that many of us enjoy. The odd few hours spent goggling at a computer screen do not hurt us. It is only when the internet becomes a compulsion that the damage is done. Surfing the internet is an isolated hobby. Therefore if we spend too many hours locked away staring at a computer screen there is every chance that we will neglect our friends and family.

To speak the truth, I am gradually going to be an internet addict. So long it is your hobby, there is no problem but when it becomes an addiction, it is a matter to worry because social activities are totally ignored and familypeace & happiness become a nightmare.
