I have four remaining exams and i can't seem to stay focus. I keep idling on the internet or wound up sleeping. I sleep more than I study and I can't seem to stop. Can anyone suggest anything that can help?I would really appreciate it as these exams are very important in my college career. Thanks :)

You should do some stretching and a little exercise. Maybe go take a little walk and look at the scenery, smell the fresh air. I've heard that if you focus on something, ex. standing on one leg and holding your balance, it helps you to focus on other things(study) as well. Good luck.

I started to exercise once it it did wonders for me. Maybe I need to take it up again. But you know that when I'm studying and I get up and walk for example as you said, when I return I simply fall asleep. I think I should really try the exercise even then whole balancing thing. Thanks Lore :)

You know what works for me? 10-15 min naps. I don't know why, but when I'm really sleepy, I nap for just 15 min and I feel refreshed... but if I go over 30 min, I get even more tired.. so, maybe you should just nap for 10 min.. it works for me.

You need to remove ALL distractions from the room or remove yourself from the room and find some where that won't have distractions. If there is nothing to grab your attention except your book you will have no choice but to pick up your notes and study. Trust me, I've failed three college courses because I did not do this until it was too late. I've passed classes thanks to this method of studying. Remember though, its not all work and no play. Take a break every fifteen minutes to just glance away from the text book and then look back to it. And every 45-60 minutes get up and stretch out. Eating a healthy meal is also important. Breakfast is an important meal.

I can't study without music. If you are comfortable with music that are kind of lively but not very loud, i suggest you play some songs on your Ipod that'll keep you from sleeping or getting bored. This has worked for me, and because music stimulates the mind, you'll be able to study more effectively. I listen to classical music like Bach and Mozart whenever I study and I manage not to fall asleep. I guess you also have to train your mind to do something because it's important. These tests of yours are essential to your career, you said so yourself. Once you get that determination to do well, you won't get bored or sleep.

Wow, you know I can't study with music. I find it distracting and I'd just sit there reading the same thing over and over again. I guess everybody is different. You mad an interesting point though, you said that once I'm determined to do well then I won't get bored or fall asleep. That really made me think for a while. I guess I need to muster up some determination then.... Thanks Faith. :) (P.S. I guess I need to increase my faith as well. :))

Hi santasan2k6! I see that you have a problem on focusing and you ought to buck up. If you're always feeling sleepy, try drinking caffeinated drinks like coffee or tea. They really work wonders for me. Ask someone you can trust to hold on to your laptop or maybe change the password for logging on to the computer. This way, you can't idle on the internet even if you want to. The last thing is remember how much freedom and happiness you are going to get when the exams are over and feel confident about passing it. As they always say, suffer now and enjoy later or enjoy now and suffer later. I wish you good luck!

i had the same problem like 3 years ago what i did what i went to the pharmacy and bought pills called Concerta They help you Focus and not think about other things the only minus about them is that you dont get that hungry but of course there are other ways to focus then taking pills let your parents or girlfriend/boyfriend or some one in the family help you like sit down with them and let them read the questions and you answer and turn of your computer controle it :P
