Do you talk to your self?

A preview on my conversation...
me: I'm resting today, oh yeah!
other me: No, no, no, you have to go to school still, remember you have a practice for your dance presentation for the faculty's party on the 16th?
me: nah, dancing is easy, and I don't like to go to school today!
other me: you lazy a$$, you just like to do myLot the whole day!
me: No, I'm going to sleep and rest...
other me: don't you give me that crap! I'm you remember?
...
Do you talk to yourself? I do, and sometimes even in public, usually when I shop for groceries, hearing my voice helps me decide what to buy, but I admit I do get a lot of people staring at me like I'm a lunatic...
-and oh, I'm still not going to practice today

I not only talk to myself but I talk to the tv as well. Stupid commercials and dumb people I have to make some comment to. People tend to aggrevate me at times. Stupidity is what it sounds like. Commercials have to go way over the top to get our attention. I have to respond to it.

My grandma used to get so discusted with menstruation pad and under garment commercials she would talk back to the tv when they were on. I would always get a chuckle out of her.

I am starting to talk to myself a lot really! I care for my son 24/7 and so it's just me and him. He does not speak yet but just makes sounds. It's a form of stimulation for his recovery for me to talk to him. So I talk to him about every thing big and small! But the other day I realized he was in the bed and I was in the kitchen just talking away - out loud - to my self!

hi marapplestiffy,
Yes, I can relate with your post. I always find myself talking to myself. For me, I think this is normal.Like you, it helps me make a decision. For example, I have to buy something. I always ask question like is this important or no; or will this fit on my personality or not. Talking to myself keep things balance. I remember a commercial before related with this. The child is thinking what decision he will make and then on his right was an angel and on his left was a devil. It is funny but it is true most of the times.

I think you could say that because you know people who talk to themselves
I feel the same way as your friend does too..

I do! But not infront of many people, lolz! I only talk to myself, in my thoughts, not really loud hehe because I don't want people to think that I am crazy. You can't seem to stop yourself to talk within you, it's like having a confidante within yourself and have a peptalk, and confide things, cheers!

If only I could stop talking to myself in public, it's hard because I've been doing it for so long...I don't really care what those people think but it gets embarrassing if the person who happens to see you is your crush(this happened at high school), your teacher (at college)....I know they thought me a loon!hahaha

I might say one or two lines to myself, but never a full conversation to myself Lol. And who is 'other me'?? That kind of reminds me of that movie fight club, Make sure you dont got a split personality going. But you might be just a person thats full of life and likes to express their thoughts in a more vocal way. We all talk to ourselves in a quiet way. Sometimes I feel like I got the pop culture phenomenon of an angel and a devil on either side. Its like that eminem and dr dre video, guilty concience check it out.

My mother had the same fear! She actually took me to a psychologist but the doctor said it's not a dual personality thing, I forgot the term he used to describe me but, well, he said I'm not perfectly sane...hmmn, maybe the same applies for everyone...

Yes, I talk to myself, no one else seems to listen. Not even the cats. I even talk to myself in my sleep. Sometimes it gives me some resolution to whatever I need. I also dream MyLot, or a version of MyLot. I visit with people who I discuss with, except their circumstances are different. I hope you had a great MyLot day.

I actually just opened myLot some moments ago, or was it hours already? time flies while I'm here and I really shake off my stress responding to people's discussions...

every-day of my life i do. hehehehe.. it's so nice to this 'cause i get to know what i really want. experiencing stuff is not that effective to me. i mean, i don't do stuff just to make me realize that i like it. i prefer to just talk to me [sometimes in front of the mirror] and organize my thoughts, reiterate and if it's time to execute.. then there i am in the open..
sometimes people see me smiling and they would wonder.. sometimes people would ask why it took me a long time in the restroom and i tell them i spent time talking to myself.. people ask me sometimes why am i always alone and i would tell them that i prefer talking to myself than being with people i'm not really that interested. i mean there's a proper time for me to be with people and lots of time for myself in a day.

Oh my goodness, I have met a kindred soul (LOL)! I have been chatting to myself since childhood and I don’t consider myself particularly insane! When I was young I was an only child for a long time and, because my parents were emotionally unavailable I began getting answers from myself! I still do it today and my family is used to it. I need to think out loud and sometimes when I catch myself doing it in public I stop myself in case the men in white coats come for me!

Yeah i do talk to myself..
When decisions are to be taken in between two things, it is necessary that i talk within myself and select wise..
I do it inside myself in public where others don't identify that i am talking alone..
I guess, everybody does that.
It's a human tendency !!

if it's human tendency, why did those people stare at me...yeah, because I look silly, putting an item down and getting it again...

Yea! Definitely! Same as you, there's also another 'me' talking to me, sometimes scolding me, sometimes advicing me haha. Well, when I was small, I used to say it out loud, in the toilet. I was bored and plus the fact that I'm an only child, which explains my actions. Nowadays, I still listen to 'me' and I'm happy yea

Yes, I talk to myself all of the time. There are times where I have to keep myself sane, therefore I talk to myself, to walk myself something slowly step by step. Often times, I'm sitting here, muttering an idea to myself, to see if it actually sounds as good as it looks on paper. In many ways, everyone is insane. Its just the degree that you're insane that matters.

It's good to know that there are people like me :) Yes I talk to myself too....It helps me with my decisions. When I talk to myself and listen to my inner voice I make the right decisions. But I don't talk to myself in the public, it's a bit weird ...

I think that is called self talk, everyone do that consciously or unconsciously, doesn't matter. It happens with me too. In my past days sometimes thought that I am just fooling myself to write here and there on the internet, then I think that no it is a good time pass because I don't have another thing to do. Then I met with Mylot and now I talk to myself like I have to post in this interest or in that interest.
It is always running in my head. It is processed in our mind to help us to take our decisions.:) Have a nice day/night ahead.

hell yeah XDD why not? its great to talk to someone you already know her thoughts!
and in public is even better, cause i have my earrings on usually, and they think i'm talking with someone on the phone.. so i can pretty much talk freely, without them thinking i'm in need of a shrink ^^'

haha. well i also talk to myself, but only in my mind.. i don't literally speak them in words in front of people. i mostly do this before sleeping.. thinking what i did everyday, what i didn't do, or forget to do.. things like that.
