Hello Dog owners, and dog lovers!
Today we are going to discuss the Importance of "dog treats" in the life of your pet, your beloved dog.
Being a dog trainer myself, I know how important it is to keep dog treats on hand to reward your dog when they have done well snd I always reward my dog for a job well done and I know that dog owners like to give their dogs treats for many different reasons. Dog owners like to give their dog treats simply because they love their dog, treats after dinner, or midday between meals.
There are many different types of dog treats, some help clean your dogs teeth, some help get rid of your dogs bad breath, some help quench his thirst for chewing, such as rawhide bones and pig ears, boy they love them "pig ears", but what gets me is how expensive dog treats have become.
Just a few years ago you could buy a bag of pig ears for $5 and now they are about $15 and that is for a pound or less, for crying out loud, you could buy your dog "Filet Mignon" at these prices and it's not just pig ears, but rawhide bones and biscuits are all up to $10,$15 even $20 a pound, you pay more for your dog treats than you pay for your own food.
Well I have news for you, I have a book, and it's a recipe book with over 200 recipes for " Homemade Dog Treats", and now you can make and bake your own dog treats at home and know the ingrediants of your dogs treats and you can even make extra money doing it but if you don't care to, well then, the recipe book is well worth having.

I think it's a great idea to make your own treats. Like you said it is less expensive and you know the quality of the product because you created it yourself. I haven't actually made treats specifically for my dogs, but I do give them leftovers from dinner as treats. If we have chicken or beef or any other meat that can be cut into cubes I use that. My dogs also like raw vegetables. So whenever I buy produce I buy enough to cut up the extra into treats. My dogs really like squash and potatoes, both of which are relatively cheap and easy to use.

Well yes jlindsey the home made treats are so easy to make at home and your dog will love them probably more than eating leftovers as these treats are made especially for dogs and their tastes. It's healthy and cleams the teeth and very chewable for the dog who loves to chew!
