Tv Licence worth it?

I don't really mind tv adverts, some ar quite clever and catchy and they are great to let you know about things like sales, promotions, offers etc. This helps us out otherwise we could miss out on plenty of things. I do love adverts for these types of things. I do however wish that i never had to pay a bill for my tv licence, here in england we have to as we have a channel that won't advertise yet if it did then i will save quite a bit of money as we would then no longer need a tv licence, but instead they would rather not advertise and so it is the law that if we have a tv in our house and it is in use then we must have a licence. What do you think about this? What is it like in other countries? Would you rather not pay this and have more adverts that could be more useful and also saves you money, i would.

i see where your coming from and i wouldnt mind if it wasnt as much as they charge. i dont see why they charge so much anyway, and i dont understand the billing system as they charge quite a bit for 6 months then the amount goes down in the secont 6 months.

I think that just because 2 of the main channels don't offer adverts it is unfair to say that we have to pay out over £100 a year for this. It is strange that one of the 6 months is different to the other. Why don't they just even it out over the year and then divide it by the 12 months so that we always pay the same amount each and every month? I hate to pay for things like this that i feel we shouldn't really have to. Maybe i should stop paying my bill and if they complain i will just say that i will stop watching them 2 channels. fair is fare afterall, lol. I doubt i would get away with it though, i d think this is wrong though, paying just because of 2 channels which i hardly ever watch.

i doubt you would too. i agree that the bill should be the same all year but every company is different

Hi craigy...
I have heard for the first time about a tv license. Actually here in my home, i have more than 150 channels but sure all are full of adds. Sometimes it irritates me a lot. But there are some funny and innovative adds too. I wish to watch all them as i want to laugh and share with my friends. Have a nice day.

No TV license here. You pay for service if you have a satellite or cable connection, but if you have an antenna you can get TV over the airwaves for free.

we have had to go digital as they cut of the analogue connection to the 5 channels we had, i pay for my cable subscription but also still have to pay a tv licence, it is so unfair.
