Have you heard? Favre's streak will end tonight. When I heard I was sad , Really sad. I am not a Green Bay or Vikings fan. But I do like Favre. This has been fun to see. But I can totally understand why he can't go tonight. When the doctors say there is a pain shot he could take but if given the wrong way, he could have a stroke. So the streak ends .

All great streaks must end, #1 streak for the 2nd greatest sport ends 3 game's short of 300 for number four.
If they still had a shot at the playoffs I think it might find a way to play though.

Soccer is the greatest sport, The World Cup is something extreme.
I would say hockey is #4, even though I think it's a more fun to watch then baseball at #3.

I am amazed that Brett Favre did not do everything possible to play tonight! This took me by surprise and I have seen some of the highlights of the Vikings,Giants game. Favre looked out of place. He looked lost and didn't know what to do with himself! It was kind of funny!
As you know I am a Packer fan. I watched Favre make him first apprearance in september of 1992 and saw his first start the next week! I have follwed his career since! I was a Favre fan until he came out of retirement in 2008! It is hard to respect Favre for what he did to the PAckers (in 2008) and with this Jen Sterger crap. I know Favre has done alot of great stuff on and off the field. He also has done alot bad stuff off and on the field! That does help me dislike him even more! I think it time for Favre to retire and get on with life. He doesn't know when to quit and maybe this will do it! We'll see!

Quit to do what? As you saw, he is out of place when he is off the field. I worry what trouble he will get into when he leaves football. Like I said , I was really sadden when I heard the news. I think it is time for him to go . I just wish I Knew he had something constructive to do.

You know the 297 doesn't include the playoff games he started, so he actually started over 320.
I am a favre fan, I don't care for the packers or his scandal but I always enjoyed watching him play.
Last night I watched the seahawks and the rams and couldn't help but notice that the seahawks qb didn't appear to be enjoying playing the game. On the other hand Sam Bradford looked very excited to be out there. I don't know if there will ever be someone who is consistently as excited to be playing as favre was.
Favre will be missed even if his retirement antics won't.

No one will have fun playing the game like he did.

I agree, he often looked like a teenager running around out there with his arms up.

I am not a big sports fan, but it is a shame when someone has to end such a long streak. I was sad to hear about this too.

I've also been a fan of Farve, but not recently when this saga of retire-not retire started. I'm sure that his legend of being a great player, is still in tact, I just don't like witnessing this very long goodbye.
As far as the streak goes, I am just glad that this happened in my lifetime. It sure is a story to tell the grandkids.

The opposite has happened to me. When he was in Green Bay I didn't even notice him except during two games, the Super Bowl The Packers won and that Monday Night after he lost his dad. I got to root for him when he came to play for my Jets. Even since I have been a fan. It seems he doesn't have anything else in his life. That's what is sad. Steve Young and Troy Aikman have become good reporters but I don't see Bret in a suit behind a desk or in a booth talking about a game he is not playing.
