I would suggest that you concentrate more on responding than on starting discussions for a while. That way you will get to know what kind of discussion will get your 'creative juices' flowing or will actively encourage you to respond. Also, read the Guidelines carefully. The 'DON'T's list contains a good guide to the kind of discussions to avoid - ones which don't encourage good quality responses and, more importantly, don't allow any room for good quality comments back from the discussion 'owner'. A good discussion is one which encourages people to answer descriptively, relevantly and with originality AND allows the person starting the discussion to comment in the same way. If earning is what drives you (and, for most long term members, it is only secondary), then it doesn't matter how many responses you get: you only earn anything more from a discussion if you can comment on the responses. A discussion with just one response and several good quality comments back and forth is a much better discussion than one with fifty or more responses and NO comments - that is simply not a discussion at all!

These are some nice points which I forgot to mention. I guess, together, we have covered all the points. Maybe someone will add something and prove me wrong.

If you are looking for more responses in your discussions, then there are a few ways which you can try. Firstly, (and this is obvious) you need to post good discussions. If your discussion is interesting and appeal to a large section of people, then there is bound to be more responses. If your discussion is such, that it can be posted on more than one interest, choose the interest which has more members. In this way, your discussion will reach more members. And of course, your friends a vital role in increasing responses in your discussions. The more friends you have, the more are the chances of receiving responses to your discussion. Remember, once you start a discussion and receive responses, comment on them. Don't just post 'Thank you', as it is against the guidelines and also a bit irritating. Interacting more with the members regarding the topic will boost your income and will take the discussion forward. It will show that you are acknowledging their participation and want to discuss further.

Welcome back! Well, there's not much that's engaging about the two discussions I saw if you want to know the truth and a lot of people make this mistake. Sure, you convey a thought like drinking milk in green tea and you ask if anyone else prefers this but that's it. It's almost like an opinion poll and not very engaging. When did you first decide you liked green tea, who introduced you to it? Where do you prefer to buy it? Are there any significant events you associate with the tea, like a marriage proposal or the birth of a child or a good time you had in the past? Is there a particular brand the you like? All these points spark interest in the discussion and invite people to comment. The way you frame the question doesn't invite conversation. Just trying to be helpful.

That is beautiful Dragon. You just showed how a common topic can be presented in different ways and they can really make such nice discussions. I hope you wouldn't mind if I use a few of your ideas??

Maybe you need to have more time here and need to post more things that people can be interested in answering. How about something personal, technical or what you just like to ask post it here as long as it abides Mylot rules. By the way, welcome back to Mylot . I am here for more than a year although not regularly visiting because of work and busy also with my family. But at least this site gives me something more like information, friends and bonus pay from them which adds savings to my budget.

hehe, i'm treating it more as a time pass :p i think i was more obsessed with getting paid earlier :p , so just needed to make response and create discussions, which turned into some kind of irritating pressure :p now i'm enjoying the conversation and posts, lets see if i can make this way last for long ^^

You have a lot of very good pointers here and I hope you take the advice and use it wisely. It should help. I might also add that don't feel bad about it and give up. I didn't get many responses in the beginning and now I get around 20 or 30. You just have to work at it, follow the rules and things should steadily increase. Good luck! And oh, welcome back!

Well it affects many way. Some are because of the interesting topics and others could be because there are not many people interested in it. Another way is to have more friends and they will get notification when you start a discussion :)

If all you are doing is just posting one line discussions, then you won't get much response, as it really isn't considered a quality discussion, nor is it one that others can relate too, as you need to be descriptive and it needs substance. Mylot expects us to post quality, instead of quantity. I don't get all that many responses either, but at least I get some, but then I also post lengthy discussions too, and that helps. Actually, your discussion here really isn't a discussion at all, but a statement, and not sure if you will earn for it or not. If you don't post commenst back, I can assure you, that you won't earn anything,. I would suggest putting some thought into your discussions, so that you can get responses. I usually don't respond to one liners, but I thought I would help you and let you know how to earn more. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
