Both these OS are good. It depends on the configuration of your PC and also the fact which OS you are more comfortable using. If your system has more than 1GB RAM, then I would recommend you to use Windows7. It looks better and boots really fast, even faster than Windows XP.

There are certain differences I suppose. I have heard the security of Windows 7 is better than XP though it hardly matters, because you are recommended to have an antivirus in any case. Windows 7 has gadgets which is missing in XP. There must be other differences between the two but I am not very sure what they are. Sorry...!!

If you are more into functionality, I would say that you stick with XP. However, if you are just into the looks of your desktop and have a feel for the modern operating systems, I think that windows 7 is the way to go.
What I like about windows XP is the convenience it brings as to the applications outside Microsoft. It gives you the ability to utilize many programs available. With windows 7, it is way better than vista however, it eats up a lot of space in your hard drive. It also has some issues with other drivers. You can not install some of the software which were produced many years ago.
I had windows 7 before but decided to go back to XP. No doubt that I am a fan of windows 7 but I needed to utilize every program I have and XP has given me that privilege.
I am now even planning to purchase a net book and have windows 7 installed in it and still use my main computer with XP. Both really are good operating systems.

I've used Windows XP before and now I'm using Windows 7 Professional. Basically, Windows XP is fast in loading but the features are limited, not like Windows 7, which has the window shaking feature and other nice gadgets and nice features. But, as for now, Windows 7 is a good choice.

well, offcourse there's much difference between the two. and Win7 has been out for a while, so it's safe to say that you can switch to win7. Windows 7 was even designed to use less resources than XP or Vista. that's why you see so many pc's with windows 7 these days, even if it has only 1 gb of ram

when using a windows 7 as operating system it requires a higher specs of your hardware but its good enough to use more advanced than xp..
then if your computer is not that strong i prefer you to use windows xp

I have used both these OS and my opinion is that both are good and easy to use. From my experience Windows 7 is better to see and I think little bit faster than the normal Windows XP.Also if one's system is having a RAM of more than 2 Gb Windows 7 would be a better option for him/her.But it is very easy to work with Windows XP too.

hi friend and thanks for your response and i want to tell to you that i also taught that windows 7 is slow operating systems previously and i am also in favor of windows XP but it is due to our misunderstanding because we do not know its minimum requirements like RAM (which is called as random access memory) which is very important for choosing suitable operating system. on the basis of this RAM we can decide that which operating system is most efficient for us whether windows XP or windows 7. if your RAM is less than windows xp is most efficient for us and if RAM is more than windows 7 is most efficient for us. my friends help us to clear my
doubt and if you want then you can also ask us we all are happy to help.
may god bless us and have a nice day.

Personally, I prefer Windows 7, but I think they're both very good operating systems. I imagine that since Windows 7 is newer, it's considerably more expensive than XP is. However, more things are going to be designed to work with Windows 7 these days than XP, since it's the newest Windows OS. I'd suggest trying each operating system on a friend's computer to see which one you're the most comfortable with.

I have moved to windoews 7 in 2009 upon its release. I had used xp for so long that I was intrested in change. the windowss 7 I had first to me was buggy at the start but in time they worked there bugs out of my pc . I like 7 because it lets me get work and tasks done that need be done. and it dosent take as long for to load up like other versiona of windows did . on side not I have 10+ years in windows xp and mac. windows xp has no support now offered by micosoft. windows 7 overall kind of reminds me of vista because it has some of the same features as vista has. windows 7 works for me. it dosent lag like windows vista.
