Unanswered prayer

There were many times in our life that we pray for world peace, justice, good health, financial success, and many good things in life. However, no matter how good our intentions were, our prayers remained unanswered and we begin to question God why? Just this afternoon, a man whose family was murdered twenty years ago, experienced an unanswered prayer when the court acquitted the crime suspects. I myself began to ask why? Is this God's will? or just another test of our faith as believers? I just hope that in God's time this man's prayer for justice will be answered.

Hi to you. God has positive reasons for his negative answers (the prayer of that man). But what if those who were sent to prisons are not really the murderer? And they have been suffering inside the jail for a very long time. Now that they are acquitted then it's their answered prayer (or their broken hearted loved ones)

All people carry a very narrow view. With our narrow view we make our judgment calls, sometimes wounded if things do not fall into our view of what should be. If you could see the entire picture, you would agree with God. Everything one does in life will return in time. This is never to punish. It is to teach us exactly what our actions mean. People can escape justice with mankind, however God will educate His children regardless of whether it will take an eternity.

In addition to this, we should not loose hope as believers. Mistakes and sins may escape from this temporal life but it will never pass in the eyes of God come judgment time.

If you really believe in God, the monotheistic being worshipped by Christians, Muslims and Jews, then you will already have realised that such a prayer cannot be answered.
Why? You might ask.
Well, this God explicitly makes it clear when he says, as quoted in the scriptures:
"Vengeance is mine."

Hi zhpshql. I appreciate your point of view. However, I do believe in God. Everytime there are unanswered prayer, I always asks myself if the things I prayed are right for me or is it the right time for me to receive those things. Just like the man I mentioned in this discussion, I still believe that in God's time he will receive justice for the murder of his family. Again, thanks for your comments and God bless you.

We think after God created this world he stayed back to manage this world and to solve our problems by answering to our prayers. God created Adam and Eve after he had created everything else. He placed them in Garden of Eden and went away. Where did he go?
He went away to create another world. Our world is not the last of his creation. He has been creating from the beginning of creation and he would continue to do so for time immemorial.
God had created Adam and Eve because he expected them to manage this world. The first and last lesson he gave them in management of this world was he asked them not to eat the fruit of knowledge.
Adam and Eve no sooner God left had succumbed to temptations. They gave into Satan and ever since Satan has been ruling this world.
Here I will draw an analogy. After Ford had manufactured the automobile and man bought it from him, he never came back to see what went wrong with it. Whenever it was developing a fault we were running to the Mechanic. Mechanic was deceiving us and pacifying us. He told us every time we went to him that everything would be fine. However, Ford was not oblivious to what is happening to the car he had sold us. He was listening to the pleas man was directing to the mechanic and he was incorporating new features into the new car he was manufacturing to ensure that it does not have the same defects.
God is doing the same. He too is listening to the prayers we are directing to the Satan (the mechanic of this world) and incorporating features in the new world he is right now creating.
God went away with the promise that he would come again. He would come back to take us into the new world he is creating for us.
We often complain that God is not listening to our prayers. He is not listening because we are asking him to solve the problems, which we should be solving ourselves. Ask him that the new world that he is making should not have the same problems we are having in this world. May be he would take little time off, have compassion on us and solve our problems too.

Although we have a different point of view, I really appreciate your comment. It is unique and provided new insight on how we see things in relation to our belief. Your analogy really makes sense. Thank you very much and God bless you.
