What is your favorite store to shop for crafting supplies?
I have a few favorites and it kinda all depends on what crafty items I'm purchasing! I always shop with a coupon. My favorite stores that offer coupons are Michaels, AC MOORE, Joanna Fabrics and Hobby Lobby. I am lucky to have all of these stores rather close to me. I typically choose Michaels to shop at first. I love Hobby Lobby but it's about a 1/2 hour away. Sometimes Michaels doesn't have what I need so I will resort to AC MOORE or JOANNE FABRICS.

My all time favorite place for me would have to be Michaels. However, living in Puerto Rico now for the past 4 months I have come to realize they don't have this store here. I have yet to find a craft store in fact. I have to look around to find a good one if they have any. AC Moore is another great craft store. Puerto Rico has all of the regular stores such as Sears, JCPenneys, Walmart, Kmart, Home Depot etc.... they also have all of the restaurants that everyone else has so I don't understand why they don't have Michaels, ACMoore or Joanne Fabrics here.

It's a toss up. I love both Michaels and Hobby Lobby but for what I want Hobby Lobby has more of it....like nestibilites for card making. For some reason Michaels doesn't carry those. We have a JoAnn's in a town not too far from here so that is the easiest place to go...but they don't carry alot for scrapping or card making like I would like.

My very favorite is Hobby Lobby. I can get lost in that store and not even worry about coming out again. ;) I like JoAnn's, too, but they don't have as much yarn as Hobby Lobby and since I knit, I am nuts about yarn. Michaels - at least the store here - doesn't appeal to me. It seems like they don't have much of the things I am interested in, but I suspect they're all a little different.

There are some local stores here in my area which sells inexpensive, good-quality supplies. It is in the downtown part of the City. I usually go check for the items I need during my free time. The stores are just close to the place I work so there is no problem going there. By the way, I do beaded jewelries.

I love going over to Hobby Lobby and looking at all their supplies, they always have such a great selection to choose from. There is also a Michaels here but it is way across town from where I am at so I don't go there very often. Michaels does have a great selection too and more for what I do but it is just so far to drive out there just for a few supplies. I also troll the web sites like etsy they always have great supplies there and some cool ones from all around the world that you can't really find locally where I am at.

I used to shop at all the shops that you mentioned but found myself with way, WAY too much yarn where I either didn't have enough for the project when I finally found one that I liked, or too much for the smaller projects. So I would give a lot of it away to charity - but after a while it started getting quite expensive! There are only so many scrap afghans and projects that one can make in a lifetime and that was no longer an option! :-) :-) :-) :-) I've been looking at the locally owned shops lately and have been surprised at how reasonable the prices are compared to my clearance buys from the chain stores that I would end up giving most away. I can't make afghans anymore, so my projects are all smaller so do not need the quantity of yarn that the larger projects require. I've fallen in love with some of the nicer bamboo, silk, alpaca and even wool yarns that feel so much better than my former favorite of acrylic. A ball of a nice bamboo/silk blend yarn at a yarn shop is not that much more expensive than regular retail on some of the acrylic blends. I know that fiber content is a personal preference, but I'm giving away less and actually spending less overall on my yarns and liking my end projects way more now. :-) :-) :-) Like I said, it's a personal preference. :-) :-) :-) I've found a cross stitch/needlepoint shop that I've also fallen in love with that has way cuter projects than what I can find at any of the chain shops. I love making miniatures and they can be a bit difficult to find (at least new designs) at the chain shops, but the cross stitch shop has them! Sure, they are a bit expensive, but I'd rather pay for something that I'll actually make and use then pay quite less for something I may not really want at a chain store. Again, personal preference. :-) :-) :-) One last thing, I've found a locally owned scrap book shop that loves to compete with the local chain shops! :-) They will match sale prices from the chain shops with equal quality stuff that they carry. Of course, their quality is much better on most of their stock than the stuff from the chain shops, but I can still get the same price on some and support a local shop at the same time. :-) :-) :-) Again, it's all personal preference. :-) :-) The chain shops that you mentioned just get me into trouble so I gladly stay away from them now. :-) :-) :-) :-)
