Where Have All The Good Stuff Gone?

I was deprived of cable when I was a kid. My neighbours and I were more like wanderers and adventurers when we were 7 or 8. We would roam around the compound and come home before dinner, but that's it. In terms of stuff to watch on TV as kids, we almost had none (except for the Betamax tapes).
I was already in high school when we first had cable. I was then hooked with Cartoon Network, watching Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies, Bugs and Daffy Show, Dexter's Laboratory, PPG, Cartoon Cartoons shows, etc. On a lazy weekend, I could watch from morning until night. I only spend time at home on a weekend anyway, since I go to school in the city.
Recently, the shows on Cartoon Network is not as interesting as they were back then. Should the cartoons shown be the same, I would still be watching them from morning until night on a lazy weekend.
I wonder where they all have gone.

Courage The Cowardly Dog and the others you mentioned are good cartoons, but I would say the are not really classics. I am talking about toons made from the mid 1900s until the 80s, those made during the second world war, etc, if you know what I mean. :) I grew up watching those reruns on the telly, so I guess I would prefer them. Don't get me wrong! I like Courage, Dexter, The Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy, etc, too! :)
