After my dog's death....

My dog just died last month. I miss my dog so much. He's the most loyal dog I ever had, and I think I'll never have anyone like him. But my family relies on my dog before for security, now that he's gone, we feel threatened. Do you think it's probably a good time to move on and let go? Do I need to get a new dog and move on with life? I miss my old dog so much.

I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is always hard.
In terms of getting a new dog, it depends on how you personally feel. I know some people who can't get a new pet for years because they can't imagine having a pet other than the one they lost. Others get another pet soon after. If you feel you need a new dog for security, it may be a good idea. No other pet will ever truly replace your dog, but it may be helpful.
