In olden days, people were very strong and ready to do any sort of work. There were hard works like farming, plouging and people give work for both mind and body. So they are so strong. Now, as the technologies are improving, people giving work only to the mind and not to the body. The result is diabetes, fat, cholesterol etc. People get tired even they do a small work. I think the rise of machines and latest technologies makes people lazy. Am I right?

Yep, computers, internet, and technology in general stimulates the mind. It gets is caught in what we were doing that we forget about the time. Being online doesnt require that much moving around so it limits our capacity to sweat. This results in piling up the pounds that we eat as the days go through. Before the rise of technology, we would be outside playing, moving around, doing the things that needs to be done and actually be physically active because there isnt that much to do inside the house after the chores has been done. Now that we have the internet, we can go places without leaving the house so we dont see the need to go out as often as we should. Hardwork, nowadays, is a discipline that is very difficult to maintain.

I agree. Technologies like cellphones, computers, cars etc. have all taken a 'toll' on people's lives. Cellphones make people lazy to talk as people can sms to each other, computers make people's eyes glued to the screens and not wanting to go out for a breather. Cars, make people lazy to walk, even to a short distance. However, these technologies improve our lives, make our lives more convenient but it really depends on how people use technologies to their advantage

To a certain extent I would say that I agree with you. However, the rest of my thinks that because of the advances in technology there are far more opportunities for us to be more fit than we were in the past because of the fact that there are exercise machines that make exercise possible everywhere that we are. It doesn't matter that it is below freezing today with a sheet of ice on the ground, I can walk upstairs and ride my stationary bike without having to worry about putting myself or others in danger.

Hi arunmails, yes, 90% is true, most of the people are depending upon the machines rather on their own work. And computers are one of the reason i feel for physical illness. That is why i will not sit in front of the computer more than a 1 hour. I go and walk for a while and do some work and come back to work. Physical movements should be there otherwise our systems will not work properly. there is a saying USE it or LOOSE it. So we have to use all our parts and make it active so that it makes us active without any illness otherwise we have to be slaves for the illness. Have a good day.

In some people's cases, yes, in some people's cases no. I think the latest technologies have made me work harder actually (with all the online earning opportunities and all), but it is very individual I think.

Part of what you say is true, but I must say that treadmills, home gyms and stationary bikes are also technology... So are all those machines that help us exercise... If you go to a gym you'll have plenty of technology to choose from... So I have to say that kind of technology really helps people overcome their laziness sometimes^^

Nice one, but instead of treadmills, you have road to walk and run, and if you clean your floor by bending down, you can reduce your belly. Work will be your work, exercise will be your exercise... right????

well, you right. but not at all. some technologies make people must do hard work. you know, not all technologies can make our work easy to do, and not all small work can be finished with advanced technologies.
