Writing Assignments

Hello, Mandy. 'Writing assignments' are the titles which are empty or with less than 5 articles, so now that the upfront system has changed, there's no monetary advantage. That said, every article increases your online portfolio, and with it, the potential for page views, so I'd say if the title appeals to you, go ahead and write to it. At least you know it won't be rejected, so it will help boost flagging confidence levels. Contest titles also no longer attract upfront payments, but if there's a contest group you like, and you can write at least 4 or 5 articles, it's worth a pop for a chance at the prize money. Last month, I won a contest and came 3rd in another, which earned a very welcome $60 extra. My advice is, when you log on, search for titles in this order: Marketplace, Contests, Writing Assignments, General channels. And you're not a pain. If only more people would do this, instead of moaning that the site is rubbish because they're not earning. Helium's system has always been complicated, but once you get the hang of it, the earning potential is there.
