No.. Not at all. It's not a good practice to remove your battery while using AC power ON.. you shouldn't remove battery until it's necessary.. one good way to keep your battery in good manner that once in a year dry it..
You dry your battery and then put them in full charge and don't use in between..
That is what I know and I believe.. may be I am wrong..

The incoming AC power supply has been stepped down and converted into DC supply for our laptop.
Every rechargeable battery has its lifespan.
I think it is safe to on our laptop without the battery.
Anyhow, the extracted battery should be kept properly and safely.

Correct. The battery on my laptop already reached it's age so I am actually using my laptop now without it. The only problem you can probably encounter is when the power supply suddenly disconnected by accident or black-out for it will automatically shuts down. Unlike when the battery is on, you can still use it for a couple of minutes, thus you will be able to save your work.

Hi dear,
Technically, it may be true. But practically this concept won’t work out. For the last 6 years I am using lap tops and never had a problem with the batteries. Also, once the work is got over at 6:00 pm, I just shut down the computer and never removed batteries ever. This plugged cord will remain till next day morning 10:00 am. Means, it is fully charged and never had any issue.
She is telling because once the charge is completed the current is keep coming to the battery cell and the existence of electricity in the batter will be present all the time, which may damage the long term work of the batteries. But for a safety purposes, what she recommended is advisable and can be observed.
Thank-s

Yes, when I write the comment to you, I just examined twice. Because after I shut down the system, the battery indicator will be on, even if it is 100% charged. That means, the charging LED is showing. But I think, it can be an indication that the battery plug is connected and also.
Even I feel the same that once the battery is full with 100%, it may be internally disconnecting and only the LED display shows for the users information. But this is needed to confirm. Also, the same system is applicable while charging for some of the mobile phones, camera battery charging etc.
The mobile is indicating a RED light if the charge is less and if it got fully charged, the light turn green, on my Sony Satio mobile. It means, after fully charged the passing of electricity to the battery may be internally cut off.
Thank-s

I feel very embarrassing to tell you that I never knew that a Laptop can work without battery. When the battery in my Laptop gets low I keep it in the charging mode and use it but I don't remove the battery.
I was totally Un-aware of the fact that a Laptop can work without a battery too. But the information is very good. Thanks for the Information.

Of course there is a lifespan of the laptop's battery.
With charging and discharging, the battery can last for certain frequentation and it needs to be condemned.
After removing my battery, my laptop is still working.
By doing so, I hope can extend the lifespan of my battery.

No i don't remove my battery when the charger is charging, may be the reason you put the charger on is that your battery is nearly empty? How will you refill it if you put it out?
Now i use laptop without battery. For some reasons, it's broken, the laptop can't see it. So i charge it all the time. It stays with plug in charger when i use it.

I don;t think this is a practical suggestion has laptops are made for to be use by non technical people and most of the, perhaps do not know how to take out the batteries, however what one can do to enhance the life of the battery is to plug out when laptop battery shows full charge (often indicated by lead light. when it stared showing log battery, then it should be re plug for charging. this is what majority of people practice all around the world.

I think you need to read the manual of your laptop before you start using it to avoid such uncertainties. Different brand names have their different user instructions, that could help you a lot!

I have had my laptop for over 4 years now and I have never removed my battery when the charger is plugged in. I have never had any problems with it and my computer works great! Every laptop is different though, so yours might be on that you do have to remove the battery. It probably won't hurt any to remove the battery though.

Hi asliah!
I got to say I agree 100% with you. When my battery is full, I will take off the battery and let it run on electricity. Well, some said there is no such thing as overcharged but yes, some people and even technicians said that overcharging is bad for the laptop. Therefore, just to play safe, I usually remove the battery when it is full to avoid any problems that could happen.
Play safe!
