What did you name your cat and why?

We named our Tuxedo kitten Muffin, and here's why: my older son wanted a kitten of his own, since we already had 3 other cats and 3 people in the house. My husband did NOT want any more cats. Both my husband and my son really like black and white cats, so I suggested to my son that he pick out a black and white kitten male, and decide to call him Muffin. . .because that was what my husband named HIS kitten that he brought home when he was a kid! (And, yes, it was black and white, too). My son followed my advice, picked out a cute Tuxedo kitten from the shelter, and brought my husband to see it. He said he wanted to name it Muffin like Daddy's kitten, and sure enough, we now have 4 cats! Are there any funny or cute stories behind the names of any of your cats?

Oliver was a week old when he was presented to me, he's the black and white kitten in my avatar. We named him Oliver because he was an orphan, foundling.

What an appropriate name! Has he outgrown it? Our tiny "muffin" is now the biggest cat in the house, and he still under a year old. At the rate he is growing, not only will he be longer than our maine (c)oon, he will weigh more, too!

Well, obviously at 5 he's not a little baby any more, but he's still OUR baby. He will jump into our arms, a trick he learned from Rygel, the cat sleeping with him in the wreath, and lick our cheeks.

I named one of my cats "Pearl" because she was as beautiful as a precious jewel.

We have two cats oddly enough both of them are tuxedo cats, one is named whiskers because when we got him the biggest thing that stood out was the fact he has white whiskers. Our other cats name is Frost and he got his name because while being a tuxedo cat he has what almost appears to be a white frosting on his coat.

Muffin's whiskers were huge at first, too--and so were his ears and his feet! Now he is growing into all three. I LOVE the name Frost--he must truly be a stunning cat. When you get to 200 posts, you should post a picture of him.

Hi! Me and my gf named our cats to Pepsi and Dexter. Dexter is a lightred/white cat and we watched very much the TV show Dexter at the time we got him so we thought he reminded us of Dexter in the show so he got it from that :D Pepsi got her name just because we both love to drink pepsi coke. Cheers!
