Democracy- is it REALLY the best system?

This is not meant to be an opinion poll with a yes/no option. But democracy is considered to be the best political system. Given the fact that most people of the world detest acts of terror yet they can't seem to influence the world's affairs with their votes, how effective of a system do you think democracy is?

yes. i think so. but you also have on the other hand corruption that you will have to deal with.
