Making it to the Yahoo top trend list means thousands, if not millions of people (assumingly majority are Filipinos) have searched about the "Vizconde massacre" these past few hours.
It's sad to say that this heinous crime which up to this present time remains unsolved is a total embarassment to our country and demonstrates the inequality, ineptness and corruption in our justice system and the police force...And that the rich and influential seems to be able to buy their freedom even if they wipe out an entire family. Even the NBI seems to have a big role in derailing the case as it looks like Alfaro is not a credible witness right from the start, and worse of all the DNA sample which could have proved beyond reasonable doubt if Hubert Webb is guilty or not was lost (either by negligence or by order from somebody who wants to protect Webb).
Imagine foreign Yahoo users wondering what is "Vizconde Massacre" and they found out its an unsolved crime that happened 20 years ago in Philippines, when many Internet users today were not even born yet, and there's not even Internet yet.

i feel so sad, horrible, disappointed its not righteous and fair that criminals could get away just like that. ive lost my respect and trust for the integrity of the justice officials in this country. ive lost my hope that people could be bribed and theyve lost their principles. i wonder where their hearts have gone....

It is supposed to be a case closed already but then due to the insistence of the accused families being well to do families that can afford to buy time and legal services of the best lawyers in the country they could eventually turn the wheels of justice on their side. Now they seem to be the victims in this case and Lauro who is supposed to be the victim here has lost all hopes that they can ever achieved justice in his hands since the case is closed and where could you find any evidence to prove you case to the courts. It looks like they are telling Vizconde to create more evidence to prove their case which I think in 15 years is a bit of an impossible dream already. I think the only case he can do right now is Justice from heavens which I know this criminals will never be able to escape from it.
Human justice for Lauro is not that favorable for him and his only course is really to pray that the perpetrators will pay for this one.

i don't know what to say, but i feel like i need to comment on your discussion. the sudden reversal of the decision on vizconde massacre case shocked the whole country and other filipinos outside. after twenty years, the supreme court's decision brought everything back to square one for the father of the victims, lauro vizconde. the big question is, who did the horrendous crime? i hope this case can find closure for the country that seeks justice.

I think our Government should participate for this situation because its so embarrassing for our Country that a Massacre case is not yet solve and remain hanging. The justice here in the Philippines is not balance and fair. We should be fair and not controlled by money and powerful people. Im not telling that they have been doing like what ive said but its clear that the justice is not deciding in right.

I think it's just right that people get curious to find out what the case is all about, the pros and the cons , the prosecution and the defense so on and so forth, and why up to now even when the verdict has been handed down, majority still debate whether guilty or not guilty, all this is but natural.
What I'm afraid about is people reading will find out how inept and stupid our government agencies are in handling and preserving vital pieces of evidences like the DNA sample that would have accurately pinpointed the culprit or culprits, and convicted who really did it beyond reasonable doubt. And if indeed the suspects are innocent , they can always match it on a data base of known felons if indeed the perpetrator is still on the loose so the case will not go cold. Much worst, after finding out that it was missing(evidences), they became like small children playing "who stole the cookie from the cookie jar". That's really devastating for all of us

I can't believe in this news. I'm sad about this news.Mr. Vizconde has been searching or want justice for his family. It's been 15 or more years. Our government and police didn't preserved the DNAs and other evidence. At that it happen, the Philippines didn't have DNA sampling and other technologies.
