I hate waiting...

It's about 5:30 PM here and I'm waiting on USPS, yes - the United States Postal Service (never thought I'd hear myself say THAT one lol) because my winter jacket that I ordered about a week ago online said that it was "out for delivery" this morning. We haven't received any kind of mail, making me wonder - are they running late? Did they just decide to hang onto it for another day? Did they actually deliver it, but then it got stolen, and somehow the Delivery Confirmation got funked up? Did the post office people take the day off - is it a national holiday that I don't know of? Hmmm.. And here I need to keep myself busy otherwise I will probably sit on the front step (in 8 degree weather farenheit, and yes, snow)... I hate waiting. Especially when it's the only real thing I have to do. What about you? Are you waiting on something right now? How crazy does this drive YOU?

I know exactly what you are saying as I ordered a new printer and was told it would be delivered on Saturday, a couple weeks ago, so I needed to get some very important things printed before Tuesday. So I figured okay I will wait for my printer, so I canceled several errands I had to do for that day, so I sat at home all day and no printer ever arrived. So I called USPS and was told they had come by. Now I know they did not as I was sitting in my front room, even though I have a door bell and I never heard them come by.Ugh.. So as it turned out they said they could not deliver again until Tuesday but could not give me exact time, so not only did I not get to the things I had to do but now had to find a place to pay for them to do the printing, not to mention I had to sit and save all the work on my zip drive to take over there. So on Tuesday I once again canceled some outside errands I had to do and yes they did deliver but not until almost 5 pm. How crazy is that. Ugh...

Well, I'm still waiting for a few more packages to come in but I'm not too worried about them. For the last couple of days all of the things I ordered have been trickling in. I'm guessing the FedEx and UPS guys are probably sick of coming to my house each day just to deliver one package every time. But, it's not my fault. I do feel a bit restless though and I think I'll feel that way until all of my things come in. I don't really know how long the packages that get sent by the USPS works though, I don't usually get any from them. But my sister had an issue with them. She ended up waiting about a month for her item since it got stuck somewhere along the way.

Sometimes when you have a confirmation you need to pick up the item at the Post Office. Check your confirmation slip and see if it says to pick it up there.

They usually leave a note on my door, from my experience. iF someone is not there to sign off on it, then to the post office it goes. But thanks for the response!

You are very welcome, did you finally receive your package? I suppose with the Christmas rush on, it will take longer. Merry Christmas.

I just hate waiting and i can understand you very good about that. Even if it is 5 minutes it drives me crazy. Always, when i got meeting, i go out earlier and try to be on the place where is the meeting 5 minutes earlier than the hour of the meeting. Every time when i have to wait for receiving money from somewhere, like paypal or something like that, it makes me crazy, when it's some national holiday and our banks doesn't work. Every time when i invite guests and they say "We will come later, around 2 a.m" and they come around 3 a.m. it's pissing me off. In that cases i say myself "what kind of people are these, which can't plan their own time"... So many things are driving me crazy, be waiting is one of the most important stuff for me, because sometimes it's about something really important for the waiter.

It was a weekend that everybody was waiting for. My friends are so eager to have a vacation. All of a sudden one of my friends was late. As in very late... For us to be complete which happens very seldom nowadays, we waited for that person... At first, we tried to enjoy ourselves even when we were just in a fast food chain near the bus station. But as time passed by, it was getting on our nerves. We were waiting for 7 HOURS or more... Everybody was now not in the mood to talk. And alas, that person arrived... Everybody was quiet while we were on the road. But when we reached our destination, we just had fun...hehehe....

i know how you feel. it seems like i hurry up and have to wait. for example, dr visits. i get there on time but i have to wait. i really don't like to wait because i am not a procrastinator. i want to get things done ahead of time. the problem is not everyone is like this. they take there good ole time getting something done. i try to compromise so i can get along. while i wait i'm thinking this is building my character for patience. it is so hard. i know how you feel.

Maezee- I'm waiting on a few items actually. I'm still waiting on my hubby's cyber gauntlets and arm pieces, as well as items from the Bruce Lee Foundation store. I'm very upset with the second right now because of shipping issues, as well as items paid for that are no longer in stock. Today we just placed an order for another bustle skirt and a blouse to go with it. And I'm still waiting on my pan pipes but the book just arrived today so I assume they'll be following shortly. That would be irritating - to buy something and then it went out of stock? What happens in that case, do they back-order it and ship it to you later? Or??

i used to be so impatient and one thing that i hate is waiting for a particular person. the anticipation for that person to arrive or in your case a package is really nerve racking. i guess the only thing to do for you is just wait for the package to arrive or better yet call the courier and ask about it.

Waiting is a part of life. You can't escape it. You can't eliminate it. You can't do anything about it at all, except... accept it. So for me... yeah I don't like waiting, and no one does. But it's not worth my time to get upset about. I could get angry, but that helps.... what? Nothing. So no, I don't get angry, and it doesn't drive me crazy or anything. Patients is a virtue. I want to be a patient person. As for USPS... you are going crazy over a government service? You do realize that government employees are unionized and couldn't care less about you waiting, right? Haven't you been to the BMV yet? lol They really don't care. It's the government. Don't let the government drive you nutz. If you really need your stuff on time, pay for UPS or Fedex delivery, it costs more, but then you are a customer to them, and they'll actually try and get it to you on time.

LOL i like the last bit. I just needed an outlet, and not only that, but something to DO to keep my mind off of waiting and checking the mail every 3 minutes. I am really not this whiney all the time. lol. I realize that they don't care, and that these government facilities can pretty much get away with whatever. Also, because I ordered my things from eBay, the sender only had control over which courier/mail service to use. I just paid the fee they asked, and that was that. SO.. Overall, USPS is OK. I got it the date they said ti would be delivered, just at a goofier time than I was used to. I got my coat, and it's lovely! And that's all that matters now I suppose. lol

Our garbage truck from the city usually runs on wednesdays. we've had two days of snow on mon, tues and 12-13 degree weather every night. four countyroup to.25 inches of ice, then rain and sleet last nt and they r calling for more snow behind this system. our garbage truck ran today. i was hoping it wouldcome cause we have ogs on both sides of us and a catg that likes to sift thru garbage. i also have to wait forour county to call off schools when its bad for snow.as for waiting on usps i have waited onthem and called as well . when it does get bad weather they have people from other counties who cant get there so other people have to pull there route as well. we had one day last year that the mail didnt run til almost 8 at night.

I recently had a box delivered to my parents, and I used a local shipping company. It was a big box, and about 70lbs in weight. For a fee, I didn't have to deliver it to their office, I arranged for it to be picked up. The only problem was they always have a very long window for pick up. I was scheduled to from 10am to 2pm. It was the middle of the day, which meant I had to miss work. And the wait was so long that they came at 1:45pm. I could have went to work for half a day, and just went home before the pick up. It drove me crazy waiting for them.

I saw the words, United States Postal Service, and I developed this violent, twitching in my eye. It did not subside for a few minutes. I think there is a pretty good reason. Something about things I order taking forever to getting there. Still, I think that it is frustrating to wait. Especially when I have to rely on the flipping Postal Service. Actually come to think about it, it could very well be some kind of postal holiday. Although, I'm pretty sure I received mail today, but still, that is always a possible. They do take every excuse they can manage to take a day off. Or they never rang the doorbell like they're supposed to and they put it outside and it got blown away or stolen or something. I'm pretty sure that happened to me one time but its really hard to prove.

LOL your response made me laugh! It turns out it was not in fact a holiday, but my tracker said that the item was out "for deliverY" starting at 8:45 AM and they ended up showing up at about 6:45 PM, which is HIGHLY unusual - I've never seen mail arrive so late! I was happy I got my package that day though. But goodness. Of course, the one day when I'm actually EXPECTING and EXCITED about the mail I'm going to receive, I have to sit around and wait hours upon hours for it to show up! Agh! I like this: (lol) "..it got blown away or stolen or something." Ha ha, I feel the very same way. I've had packages with delivery confirmation STILL somehow disappear.

United Postal Service - one of the oldest mail or package delivering service
Hello Mylotters, I have been in the Call Center Industry, and talking about follow-ups on the UPS delivery of their packages is a PAIN. I won't blame for customers getting angry at us since UPS can be a bit slow now a days, probably it was too damn slow. from what I remember, they dont' take much off during holidays they are much busy there.. something must be wrong with the transport thing. Well, I don't know there but here if you have a connection with the LBC then you become a priority lane. it's hard though not every gets their package transport fast.

I used to get impatient too, as I hate waiting, but now, I just buy and forget about it, I got better things to do with my time and thoughts. And then when it does finally get to me (and sometimes it's been known to take up to 3 months), it feels like Christmas.. especially when I did forget what it was I bought. :)

I also hate waiting. I am also waiting for a package right now. I ordered two items on amazon and they only delivered one item and I am still waiting for the other package to arrive. I think a lot of things are going wrong on there system right now since they are getting a lot of orders. I just hope the second package will arrive before Christmas.

I have a routine of waiting 1 hour for my college bus almost every day that bus has to be at my place at 6:49 but normally arives by 7:25 and the worst part is that it almost comes after 7:45 and i will be waiting there for no reason. And some times they are before tims so i cant take a risk of being late to my stop so i do my routine waiting from 6:40 and now i have plans of having a car for my transportation.
